Indyra Originals 50% Off Sale

posted by Gidge Uriza

If you had asked me, I would’ve said that I already owned everything at Indyra Originals. So how surprised was I to find a few things nestled in her 50% off sale that I’ve coveted but never picked up? QUITE!

This is just a quckie but I wanted to show all of you the lovely Picassa ballgown which comes in several colors – I justhad to have this vibrant sunny color though.

Cruel fate and a busy schedule keeps me from logging in to pick up Ryker Beck’s New Skin Lily – so I’ll content myself with Wearing Shiloh.

Elysium Surprises

Elysium Elide whose blog Photographing SL is familiar to all of us who read the feeds has begun making clothing. She brings to her clothing the same quality and artistry that sets her blog apart from most. Her store, Elymode, opened Friday and the clothing is beautifully made and surprising conservative and wearable anywhere and everywhere. I have to express just a bit of surprise that there are no breast-baring options. ;P

I really fell for the Leafy skirt, top and cardigan. The details are subtle and well-planned to keep the clothing suitable for mixing and matching. The fabric is deceptively simple, but zoom close and see the attention to the weave that gives the solid colors depth and luster.

That's some skirt

The new skirt from LeeZu – or actully, pants as she named the Mia Corset Pants, is one hot look that I think would be hard to replicate in real life. Of course, who needs to? It’s a high-waisted skirt with lots of ruffles that is open down the side.  I paired it with a LeeZu top – not any of the ones pictures, but a top actually designed to go with some short. The curve of the top is a perfect line with the top of the skirt – so they may not be pictured together, but they coudl be made for each other.

Weekend Gorgeous from Donna Flora

posted by Gidge Uriza

I have watched Cajsa post Donna Flora and said in my mind “Self, you do not need another store to love. Let Cajsa make sweet love to Donna Flora and no matter what, DO NOT GO THERE!”

And then I went there.

The fact that I came away with only one dress and one necklace was not a statement of not being able to find something to SUIT me, rather a statement of being so overwhelmed with the fantastic fun I found that I couldn’t pick what to buy next.

I’m serious, how did I not know that this store had unbelievable bargains and goodness? Plus jewelry oh drooooool for the JEWELRY. You have no idea what gorgeous stuffs there are to be found, if you have not been yet.

I am also wearing a fun hairstyle courtesy of Head Mistress and I want EVERYONE TO NOTICE my title says nothing about dirty knees this time! This hair is called Drama Queen and it made me laugh. Perhaps big hair = big drama?

Cajsa also corrupted me by taking me to Chaisuki to look at skin. I can see that place is going to break me.  The make-ups are amazing.

Woot! Woot!

PixelDolls Crochet Dress Kit

In plurk yesterday someone asked where folks buy gestures and I snarked that I don’t buy them because I hate them. I have never used the Woot! or Hoo! gestures. In fact, I deleted them as I do most gestures. So of course, friends have had to send me little messages saying Woot! because that’s  how the world works.

Now, about a week ago, I was actually in a position where the Woot! gesture would have been appropriate. You might recall the outfit I wore last week with the black crochet gloves. Folks could not find it, so I im’ed Nephaline Protagonist the creator of PixelDolls and asked if it was still on sale. She said she was going to make it a group gift, but then….the next day I got this off-line IM to email. “Hi sweetie! I tracked down that glove map, and reworked the whole thing a bit- I had quite forgotten what a neat top and stuff that was. I just put some items in my shop that use the maps- I’m sending you copies via Xstreet. Thanks for everything!!! <3”

Woot! She released three (four if you count the white skirt options) versions of the older dress, reworked so they are even better.  So here they are, thanks in part to you readers asking how to find those gloves, which prompted me to ask, prompting her to revisit those old files. And seriously, these dresses are too sexy by half – whether the daring crochet or the slightly more demure lace, with or without the corset. These are clothes for when you are hell bent on seduction and some of the hottest gloves ever.

You will be assimilated

So I wrote this funny post about being assimilated into the beige excess nutf*ckery of Gidge and Winter and titled it Resistance Is Futile. Funnily enough, Gidge titled her post the same so when I hit publish, my post disappeared. Dang! So starting from scratch, where was I? Yes, I was innocently flirting with this guy who shall remain nameless when I got an IM from Gidge telling me that she and Winter were shopping at fri.day. Then, another im, they are buying all beige. Not tempted. Then the third – not an im, a snap of them in their matching Borg, er Beigewear. Damn, I was assimilated and tp’ed to fri.day where half the grid was shopping in a mad frenzy.

Chinoiserie

This gorgeous dress is called Chinoiserie and is from Icing. I had styled it a few weeks ago, when it was newly released, for a shoot for Second Style. But the vagaries of SL intervened and the reporter moved on from the magazine. So, no Second Style moment of glam for the dress and me. Oh well! To pay homage to what “might have been.” I have shot the photos on the white background with the Caliah Lyon windlight settings just so we all can pretend.

Starlight Star Bright

Digit Darkes knows how to make sexy, romantic, fall in love forever dresses like no one else. Everytime you think, this is it, it doesn’t get any better, along comes something new and exciting and sexy.  Now I liked it when I saw it in the store. I liked it enough to buy it, but had not put it on yet when I saw it at Fabulous Fashion TV last week. Oh my, this is one of those dresses that have to be seen. No photo can capture how the dress glitters and shimmers in the light.  I was tempted to change into the dress right then in there in the studio, but I resisted and kept my low ARC system clothing on. /me pats self on the back.
