Show Some Skin

posted by Gidge Uriza

Cajsa warned you I had new skins! 🙂 There isn’t a pixel day that goes by that I don’t THANK GOD for my now SL Dead Blingtard friends who only ever took me shopping at X3D (now Digit Darkes).  Because if it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t be wearing some absolutely gorgeous, radiant new skins.

I was trying to get off to bed last night when word of the hunt at Diversity came and I braved another hour online (despite it being day two at a new job!) to make the best of it! The new skins are simply radiant and the variety of make up options are truly myriad. Continue reading

Hat Tip

Sometimes the best way to find the cutest top or whathaveyou is seeing it on someone else. While stopping at Hotel Dare to pick up a costume I will be posting later today I ran into fellow fashionista and It’s Only Fashion reader, Annabella Donner, who was wearing an adorable top. Really adorable, so I asked her where she got it and she sent me to Samara Designs and now I am wearing it in this photo.

Oola-La – Last Year's Official Costume!

WHO MADE ME?

WHO MADE ME?

I spent forever last year deciding what was my OFFICIAL “THIS IS MY HALLOWEEN COSTUME” costume. Because I had a lot of events to HOSTESS, plus events to attend, plus my OWN house party plus the Vicious Party….well…..I kind of had a lot of costumes. But I wanted ONE to be my official costume.

I found this at a shop called Around the Fountain which also seemed to have a GREAT selection of other costumes.

The problem I am having though – is that I can’t find it now. Continue reading

Here We Are. Now, Entertain Us…….

Holiday Party Season is rolling down the pike. Have you started shopping? HAVE YOU? Good grief….me neither – not REALLY. I need to get it together. Fast, because with Halloween rolling up uber-fast you KNOW how quickly all the big fun events start happening. Luckily for me, I do happen to know a couple of really top notch designers who help keep me from dressing like a total slag.

I am speaking of the lovely Kunglers of course. If you haven’t been to their store yet – check’em out. Besides offering a quality freebie on a regular basis, they have a really tremendous RANGE of designs. Looking for something casual and relaxed? They’ve got this. Or some really lovely lingerie that won’t break your bank? Try this. Something really femme but dateworthy?  Literally – the range is there, from very fancy evening event to causal romp with friends…….which is why I always am so excited to see what is new from Kunglers. Fall's Fancy

posted by Gidge Uriza

Laynie Link had a tremendous sale a few weeks ago, where she got rid of a lot of her older fashions to make room for new pieces.  I took advantage and had to expand all of my closets because of it, I tell you. This beautiful fall colored set – Hibiscus Dreams – is separates so you can pick up the skirt or shirt or both. Where can you get them? Both are still available on ONREZ lucky girls.

The skirt has a texture like crushed silk, it’s lovely and has a beautiful swaying action when you walk…..very delicate and lady like. Continue reading

Weve Got System Skirts - And Were Not Afraid to Use Them

We've Got System Skirts - And We're Not Afraid to Use Them

In the middle of a shoot the other night Cajsa and I both got the group notice that there was about to be a fashion show – in approximately 30 minutes. We decided we would finish up the shoot and then slip into something LOW ARC yet fashionably acceptable, and roll over to see the show. It was designer we both adore so we were really looking forward to it.

28 minutes and 147 hairstyles reviewed by Cajsa later we were dressed and ready to go. So we pop over to the show.

Color Me Cashmere

Cashmere – the must luxurious and sensuous of knits. It is the epitome of YUM and PixelDolls have been doing cashmere right.

But first, let me just say something about PixelDolls because they along with Digit Darkes and Nyte & Day have a special place in my heart. They were the first three stores I shopped at after Gidge rescued me the day I met her and showed me there was more to Second Life than freebie dungeons.

Yes, she rescued me. I was so dumb I walked under a ramp and got stuck and couldn’t figure out why I could not move and this sweet woman said, “I think you are trying to walk through a wall, dear.”  Continue reading

The "It" Dress

The bandage dress that Herve Leger sprang on the world back in 1989 remains the ideal dress to highlight the feminine form. Clearly the Cleo dress from Cachet, though vastly different, has its roots in that iconic dress. Like the bandage dress that used the weaving of dyed bandages to create the sexiest, most form-fitting dresses on the runways, the Cleo’s bodice shows the intricate weaving of bandage strips that cling and cling and cling – revealing everything and nothing. To me, it’s the sexiest dress on the grid.

Music is My Aeroplane

Sometimes I get a review pack from someone I’ve never heard of, and this can be the most fun of all. It’s like being given a bag of treasure. There are so many places to shop on The Grid, you couldn’t EVER hit them all simply due to the fact that places open and close faster than you could complete your list.

I think that’s sort of exciting and daunting at the same time. Continue reading

Ruby

Is there anything sexier that a form-fitting, softly-flowing jersey sheath with a pencil skirt? This black and white print sheath makes a good argument that there is not.  Sexy, chic and simple, who could ask for more that this gorgeous dress from Little Rebel. It makes me think of the lyrics from Ruby.

Youve painted up your lips and rolled and curled your tinted hair.
Ruby are you contemplating going out somewhere?
The shadow on the wall tells me the sun is going down –
Oh Ruby, don’t take your love to town.
