I’ve finally re-emerged from the ranks of the drug induced exhaustion + carpal tunnel that has pretty much kept me away from the keyboard except when at work.

I love it when a doctor prescribes me something and then says, “This is going to make you unbelievably exhausted. It really induces a strong sense of fatigue.”

Why, lovely…….do you have anything that makes me feel fat and ugly and we can just call it depression in a bottle?

LUCKILY I have a pixel world when I can escape these doldrums…….and I get some great opportunities to show you some fun pieces for the having. This set is really all built around this skin.  You see, because Cajsa is EVIL  my good friend she took me to Symphony to check out their skins.

Who Needs Another Prim Skirt and Tank Top Combo?

Well…….I do.

Casual wear in our world consists of pants and tops or skirts and tops – just like RL. So yeah, it can get tiresome to see tank after tank after tank paired with this or that. Which is where patterns and textures come in so nicely.

For me, this ensemble at SHAMELESS was an easy sell, the skirt is simple and unobtrusive (prims skirts have to be eye-catchingly brilliant or very simple in my opinion) and the top is a fun print. Continue reading →

So I’m sick. In RL. I’ll spare you the details, but let’s just say that there is snot, a sore throat that disallows proper speech and hot burning ears. There is also some coughing.

Consquently, I’m bitter.

A lot of role play areas have great items that are fantastic for costumes. Not to be missed are some of the Egyptian role play areas (seriously just search EGYPT) where some of the most lavish costumes I’ve ever come across can be found.

I hunted for an Isis or other Egyptian costume for a party earlier this year and scavenged all over the grid looking for the one I wanted.  Part of my challenge was that I had fallen in love with this hair from Tekeli Li and didn’t want to wear different hair but the costumes I found had hair that REALLY had to be worn with the otufit. There are lots of way to kick up the elegance of dreary old brown and this dress from <3 Cupcakes is a great example of what shades of brown can bring to the table with regards to elegance. Muted browns and beiges make the Fiona dress almost easy to not notice, it’s so subtle.

Throw on a set up heels, some pearls and sweep up your hair and you’ve got an elegant evening in the bag.

And good grief, did I forget to do my nails? Lord what’s next? Forgive me Fashionistas…….I’m only human too!
