Jewelry with religious tones is always fascinating to me, be it an Ankh or a Cross or something from the east (okay technically the ankh is from EAST of me but I’m thinking EAST of that). I like especially like wearing Celtic Crosses (that’s the Irish in me) and this stylized Celtic set from Earthstones is a great modern take on an intricate traditional style. Ooh, Spiders

Abraxxa Anatine has gone Halloween crazy. It was not that long ago she released the Desmodus jewelry in all their batwing glory, and now she has released Eww! Spiders! This is a delicate and intricate jewelry set, nearly as delicate as the web weavers that inspired it.

So, I have to quibble about the name. It should be Oooh! Spiders! because spiders are such lovely, handy little beasties.  They eat mosquitoes, no-see-ems, wood ticks and horse flies, what more can you ask of any creature?  And yet, they do more. They spin beautiful webs of intricate lace that inspire our art and imagination. Continue reading →

Rockberry’s freebie Halloween dress, the Vamp Dress, doesn’t really have to be limited to Halloween. It has lovely design details like the belted corset which I would have loved to have on a separate layer. Of course, the batwing scalloping on the bodice is  a bit witchy, but witchiness like vampishness are year round qualities.

We didn’t need Michelle Pfeiffer’s portrayal of Catwoman to know that the relationship between Batman and the arch-villainess was complicated by unwilling and unwanted attraction. So, when I decided to bring out my Catwoman costume again, I also pulled out EarthStones brilliant Desmodus jewelry set – because wouldn’t Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman have worn it if she had the chance?

Laynie Link had a tremendous sale a few weeks ago, where she got rid of a lot of her older fashions to make room for new pieces.  I took advantage and had to expand all of my closets because of it, I tell you. This beautiful fall colored set – Hibiscus Dreams – is separates so you can pick up the skirt or shirt or both. Where can you get them? Both are still available on ONREZ lucky girls.

The skirt has a texture like crushed silk, it’s lovely and has a beautiful swaying action when you walk…..very delicate and lady like. Continue reading →

Chupa Chup

I have no idea what Chupa Chup means, but it’s what Sissy Pessoa named this lovely dress (one I got at her half-price sale) and it sounds fun, so let’s run with it.  It’s bright colors and wild stripe pattern so reminded me of candy that when I could not remember the name while saving to disk, what my mind came up with was chuchui. It was a tad chilly so I added a shrug from Little Rebel and went with some ankle boots from Novocaine.
