So this scanty outfit started with the hair. I’d found some big foofy hair at a designer (who shall remain nameless) and it was just all that and a bag of chips. But, sigh, the economics of it were paining me. One color only for L$400?  So many designers are at least including a couple of tones or more for LESS money….

Quibbling over a couple of hundred lindens might seem silly but in fact, I’m just an AV like everyone else and not always MADE of money. Cajsa reminded me that I could check Damselfly for some big hair that might be what I was looking for, so I flew over there. Continue reading →

So Gidge said I look like a futuristic rock chick in this dress – I suppose it’s the epaullets. I wonder if they are properly called epaullets when they are on a floral print drop dead gorgeous dress and not on a uniform.  I will call them epaullets because it sounds so much more official than doodads and much more attractive than exo-skeleton or shoulder pads on the outside or wing-dings. Whatever you decided to call them, you ahve to admit they give this dress a marvelous profile.

My friend Delilah loves to go to the reggae bars. She’s hunting that perfect rastafarian to help her find peace with the universe I think. I wanted to go out with her one night, I brought her to SL but like so many people you bring in world……she wandered off into her OWN new world and we don’t hang much. I wasn’t sure what to WEAR to a reggae bar. I mean, I haven’t been to one in world before.

This new Reflections Dress from Digit Darkes is so elegant yet so overpoweringly sentimental, I immediately started singing the old Supremes song when I put it on. This is a dress for a night of elegance and romance.  I am wearing “Festival” and the name belies the depth of the dress.  It’s bold feathery skirt and elegant feminine bodice are a visual contrast that is even more emphasized by the drop waist. I’d had a full day of shopping and hard work looking for fashion goodies(I had been searching for shoes, I need fall shoes darnit), when Cajsa drug me off to wash her car! Geeez!

Ok, kidding – but she thought I looked like a tough girl in this outfit and thought the Car Wash was the perfect place to shoot it.  I got this super fun tough girly outfit from Indi and I picked it up on a hunt that Freestyle covered. I only own three things by Indi, all of which I got on the hunt and I feel a little guilty about that, because I just love all three items.

The delish thing about this outfit, is that it came with oodles of layers – including this hot lingerie layer……

okay, so I CAN mod my hair, sort of…

I was able to mod my hair last night and move the single offending hair prim out of my cheek. YAY! It took 4 minutes and clicking the move Y- button twenty-two times. NOT SO YAY!  And that was with everything going my way.  I was lucky that i guessed y-minus right off the bat and didn’t spend any time clicking the other 5 options at all. And of course, if the prim had been behind another prim, i woul have spent 10-20 minutes moving one prim out of the way so I could click on the prim I need to move and then moving the prim in the way back to position. Actually, no I wouldn’t, I would have given up and deleted the hair.  Honestly, edit scripts are a poor substitute for being able to edit hair. It’s time-consuming and frustrating. And Damselfly is one of my favorite hair stylists, dagnabbit.But on to more cheerful things like the gorgeous dress from TOSL that I have on. Continue reading →

When I saw the new Seduction dress from Mimikri I began to drool. After mopping up, I popped over to the store and picked up the sexy Seduction in Nude.   I added a bit of contrast with tan gloves from Fleur and a stole from Skin Flicks.With the coffee lipstick on the PXL skin, I thought the palette was just about perfect.

Linden  Labs has made me very happy recently. They seem to have solved the infamous system skirt issue. Now I have been struggling with the system skirt problem since last November and according to the Linden who dealt with me on this issue time and again, the very first to report any such problem. I don’t know about that, but I sure know I was not the last. There are thousands of skirt glitch sufferers. But back to the happy news that system skirts are working again! Continue reading →
