Do The White Goths Only Stab Others For Good?

Posted by Gidge Uriza

You know the saying, EMO PEOPLE WANT TO STAB THEMSELVES, GOTH PEOPLE WANT TO STAB YOU – well after I got the latest White Goth – Sophie release from BLUEBLOOD this got me wondering. What are the White Goth’s up to? Reading Martha Stewart instead of Keats? Smoking E- Cigs instead of clove?

The Sophie dress comes in several pastel accented colors with a gorgeous white theme all over, including gloves and hose. Continue reading

I Love Rock & Roll

Oh, the Malice dress from Indyra Originals is quite the twofer. You see, you have a choice of wearing the sheer version (shown) or the opaque version. Feeling like a rocker, I went for the sheer version since it’s not too sheer and is discreet in all the right places. Putting it one, I felt like I was ready to join Joan Jett, Krissy Hynde or Patti Smith and rock out. Well, if I could only sing, that is.

Community Spirit: The Aggregators

Metavirtual.us

NOCTURNE Fashion Feed

ShopaholicFeed.com

It doesn’t matter which is your favorite, the fashion feeds are essential elements in building the fashion community. They are the neural network spreading information and connecting us together. Without the feeds our little blogs would be lonely voices in the wilderness. So a big shout out for the aggregators – each and every one of them.

Flirtatious Frills

Sissy Pessoa of Baiastice has made a delightful array of gorgeous pleated skirts. I love the length, longer than the usual SL mini but short enough to be flirty. In fact, everything about the skirt and the frilly blouses that she also made to mix and match with them is flirtatious…I guess she was putting in the Valentine’s Day spirit in mood and form rather than just in colors.

Community Spirit Challenge:SweetDeb Kips

posted by Gidge Uriza

There is a blogger, and if you read the feeds I know you know her. Her name is SweetDeb Kips.

And I’m going to celebrate her right now.

When I was a new blogger, I wasn’t very good and I look back on some of the first outfits I ever put together and my head nearly explodes.  And then when Cajsa put a pixel gun to my head and made me learn how to take my own pictures, I wasn’t very good.

It’s hard to break into the Fashion Mafia. I’m not sure how you get in, but I think I had to eat dog biscuits. I can’t tell you if I did. Because then I’d have to kill you.

Thus, I celebrate SweetDeb. Deb likes to post. She’s a total enthusiast with the joie de vive of ten bloggers. Yeah, she posts a lot. But I admire her passion and her total commitment to her love of fashion on The Grid. I hope that her joy and enthusiasm never wanes, and that she continues to bring us what she loves.

It’s rare that someone shares their joy with such abandon and childlike glee. Her contributions might be many, but they are delivered with joy. And how can joy ever truly be a bad thing?

Enchantment

Sometimes there is a dress that enchants me. It is so new, so breathtakingly fresh that I just have to play and find different ways to look at it. It makes me experiment with my photos and hunt out places to shoot and just to see what more I can do because it’s inspiring in its originality.

Gelsomina from Donna Flora is just such a dress. I could not stop shooting pictures and have quite the collection on Flickr. First there’s the exuberant combination of lustrous gold in the underskirt, with layers of net, tulle, charmeus and silk ombre. Add the magnolias scattered over the dress and the hairdo that would make Madame Pompadour green with envy and you have a magical enchantment.

Musashi Do Valentine Release of Brocade Princess – On Sale Feb 10

posted by Gidge Uriza

My friend Shiryu Musashi has re-released his stunning Brocade Princess gown in a special set of Valentine Colors – Purple and Pink – and they go on sale February 10 ! The original Brocade Princess was truly one of my favorite ball gowns ever, elegant and beautifullly created with a gorgeous texture.

The re-release I might even love more, as they are purple and pink and NEED I SAY MORE?

I can’t pick which color I like best, luckily I don’t have to.

This gown definitely makes my must-haves this year for the Valentine holiday. You can get yours once the bell tolls that Feb 10 has arrived at the Musashi Do mainstore.

I am wearing Baiastice’s new CASTING makeup in Peach, and Juicy’s LOLA shape.

The Lola shape has great tits 🙂

Say Yes to the Dress

One of the silliest reality shows on cable is ‘Say Yes to the Dress” about the ups and downs of selling wedding dresses as a high end New York retailer known as Kleinfeld’s. It’s inane, but I had to watch it once just because I loved the name of the show. I love to say Yes to the dress – and it’s so easy when the dress is as lovely as this Wilder gown from MiaMai.

Community Spirit:Winter Jefferson

There is a rare breed of person that you meet out in the world, whatever world you live in, who sees the world through better eyes than you do. It’s not that they are more intelligent, or more holy, or even more able than you – it’s one simple difference.

They look – and they see possibility. They see a child who could learn to ride a bike, even if it means falling off it a few times. They see a creator who could expand their horizons to new places that they never thought they could go, and encourages them warmly to do just that.

They see the fusion of art and fashion, and how complimentary the two can be – and inspire others to see the same.

They see the goodness in all people – even the ones you and I might think are total assholes. Continue reading
