I was wandering around on Saturday, popping into stores in Istanbul and saw this store called My Precious that was filled to the rafters with ballgowns – beautifully made, luscious ballgowns like this one in Champagne, though perhaps butter creme is a more accurate description. It’s not a color that’s often featured and I fell for it.
I love plaids and wandering around Japan on Saturday I found a lovely three-pack of tartan skirts including this version in Red. It’s from DDJ and the entire pack includes three tartan bras and skirts in red, blue and green and two semi-sheer sweater options to wear with it.
So, I am sad that Linden Labs bought OnRez and will be closing it down. I don’t like the other site and probably won’t use it. However, the news did send me rushing to OnRez to shop and there I found this lovely jacket from Y.M.X. Pink and grey go together so well and this lovely tweed is just adorable. I wanted to wear something pink to show off this new skin – a limited edition offering from Bebae. It’s a Valentine’s Day makeup addition to the Bebae Belina line – and comes with a pink or a red lipstick.

The other day I was shopping at Adam N Eve, looking to see if their made their wonderful high-waisted leather skirt in gold as well as silver. They don’t, I want. I wanted to wear it with this top – a blouse I love with reservations. It’s a gorgeous design, I love the intricate black on black embroidery and would wear it more often if it were not sold on only the jacket layer. I would like to tuck it in sometimes. Every Sunday afternoon finds me at the Velvet – the marvelous indie music club on the Downtown sim. The Velvet is a favorite club for many reasons, not least that there are no gesture addicts there. People actually have conversations with each other so it’s not silenced by IM private chat either. By and large, people are generally pleasant and friendly though a few are self-proclaimed music snobs. There’s a lot of music conversation and folks have a good time. There’s no dress code and people generally come as they are. This is what I wore this Sunday while dancing the afternoon away.
So I spent a portion of the weekend running around, going shopping, going to sims, checking my landmarks thinking I would clean them up. I had big plans for the weekend in terms of getting my inventory under control (did not happen) but I did check out and delete some landmarks – mourning the loss of some wonderful sims and art installations lost in the whole openspaces change. When I hop around from place to place, I like some comfortable clothes like these that make me feel ready for anything.
So I went shopping in Osaka. I actually went there to see if Akeyo had made new dances. The answer to that is no. Then I poppped across the street to see what Rebel Xtravaganza was up to and the next thing I knew I was checking out the adorable little shopping complex iwth the bridges and ladders over the river. That’s where I found this hair and hat combo, the skirt and the top and some other stuff, but I can’t wear everything at once. Now, one time when I went to Spain, I did put on three pairs of slacks and 4 shirts because I could not close my suitcase, but other than emergencies like that, it would just be silly.
Silly puns! I love them. Of course, this dress really is too beautiful for puns, isn’t it? I love the rich silk brocade with the ancient Chinese prints inspired by old painted vases and silk screens. Even without that glorious bow adornment, this dress is a sophisticated homage to the ancient silks of China, but that bow…oh yes, that bow. Don’t you just love how it angles so it frames the face and draws your eye to the neck?
I went to Codebastard Redgrave’s surprise party last night for her second Rez Day and had a great time. The DJ, Madama Maracas, was new to me and I thought she was fabulous. She did an amazing job of incorporating a wide variety of music and finding some outstanding songs to suit the occasion – frequently inserting a song that slyly commented on or reflected the somewhat ribald and risque chat in the room. I had a great time…and part of that great time was enhanced by planning ahead and choosing a party perfect dress like this one from Baiastice. You see, I knew that anyone as well-loved as Codie would not have only 15 to 20 people at her party, that there would be a crowd that would stretch our computers to the max…so I wanted to dress for a party while keeping my ARC down.
