It's E! For Excellent

This photo is from one of my favorite places in Portland, the wonderful Chinese Garden in Old Town. It’s only a city block, but it takes you out of the city. It reminds me of a sim in its discrete containment of such rich beauty in the heart of one of Portland’s grittier neighborhoods. For my visit, I wore some fab items from E! – the exclamation point is theirs but they deserve it.

Chocolate Covered Secrets

Life is sweet at Cafe Gourmand.

Gidge and I were hanging out at Crimson Rezzable the other night. We had popped over to check out the Lucky Chair and noticed there was a flag hunt going on – continues through Sunday – and then just chatting while waiting for things to rez. All of a sudden I spied with my little eye this dress from lurvebite that had me squeeing with glee. It looks like Chocolate Covered Cherries. I nearly danced the dress please me so. Clearly I had to get it. Then I thought it would be fun to shoot it with some of the luscious pastries from Cafe Gourmand, our friend Cezare Blanco’s new store. I  tp’ed him over to the blogging headquarters to rez me some pastries.  He arranged them artfully and even included the magnificent cake he made for for Polaire and his wedding. After shooting this snap I had to log off to eat. Continue reading

Bandana Day With the Sexiest Swimsuit in Second Life

So reading the newest issue of Sxy2nd I see that readers voted and chose a swimsuit from JustB as the Sexiest Swimsuit in Second Life. I definitely had to check that out. The suit in the photo was white, but I chose the red for my bandana day outfit because, hey, it’s the 4th of July tomorrow.  You are not seeing the sexiest option, that is after the cut and still discreetly photographed…you know me. I had some running around to do, so I covered up a bit with some other super sexy clothes from Exodi.

If you were paying attention last week, you would have popped over to Exodi for the 50% off sale in which 100% of proceeds were to be donated to Make A Wish Foundation in Michael Jackson’s memory. The total raised was 812.99  which is very exciting. While the sale was on, I ran over and picked up just about all the tops she has.

I Went to Wretched Hollow

I read in New World Notes that Wretched Hollow was one of the most popular sims on Koin-Up last week, so I popped over to see why. Well, it’s bucolic with a dash of the mystical. It even has a glass conservatory. What’s not to photograph. Since it was such a romantic scene, I decided to shoot this romantic flowered dress from sonatta morales. I made it slightly more romantic than the original intent by editing the texture just a tiny bit – making the skirt semi-sheer instead of opaque.

Too Much Fun

Sometimes I put together an outfit that just appeals to my sense of fun and whimsy more than most and I end up wearing it for days, putting it back on after shooting another outfit, just because I love it so. That’s what happened with this outfit, perhaps because of the gloves more than anything…but I did fall for the look and had to treat it to a little more fun with the photo shoot, so I used the Mannequins from Lost Angel – just because they are too adorable for words.

LeeZu Does It Again

LeeZu is more fashion forward and fashion adventurous than I am. I love to go to fashion shows featuring her clothes because there’s sure to be some extravagant and experimental forms and designs that are just a bit more wild and wonderful than my personal comfort level and that’s fine. I love to see it and marvel and know that there will also be equally extravangant and wild pieces that are at my comfort level. Her work spans such a range that you can always find something that’s “just right” like this lovely gown called Adriana.

Did I say gown? I should have said cocktail dress, I guess? Depending on how you wear it, LeeZu includes enough prim options to let you get it just right. The Sayuri pumps, by the way, are from HaysUriza.

Golden Girl

Choosing something to wear while shooting a million hairstyles, I wanted a dress that would not interfere with the hair. No collars, ruffles or puffs – no prims, no sculpties. I wanted it to be relatively low cut as that tends to flatter most hair styles and really simple so it wouldn’t look odd with vastly different styles of hair. This dress pretty much fit the bill though it was a stretch for a few of the hats and fantasy hairs. It’s a lovely simple dress from Casa del Shai and really proved how flexible it is.

Rebel Child

So Tenshi Vielle of Boutique (this is a new name) recently dropped this outfit on me and I had to share it because I love the fabrics.

So Tenshi Vielle of Boutique (Note: That’s a new name.) recently dropped this outfit on me and I had to share it because I love the lovely prints in the dress and the insouciant mix of contrasting prints. Putting it all together with the hat and jewelry that came with – I could not help but think of that tremendously earthy and powerful singer Gretchen Wilson and her song Rebel Child.

Fabrics

When I first saw this dress at KA Designs I knew it was a must have because it reminded me so much of a dress my older sister had, one of my favorites. She’s enough older than me to have lots of cool retro dresses that she saved and one was very similar to this except it had capped sleeves and a brown sash waist. It was made with a blended wool challis that was so soft to the touch – imagine blending flannel pajamas with silk and you would get the approximate feeling of how soft and “pettable” this dress was. I am sure that is what explained the sly smile when she said is was her “best date dress.”
