Another Hair Fair Find and yes, another from Bishwear. Can I help it that I like shaky, shakey shakey hair? This style features straighter, more flyaway hair that has a naturalistic look to it. To give myself a crystalline feel, I went for this lovely group gift from Baiastice. Continue reading

Calling on the Classics
After the avant garde funkiness of the Kitty coat yesterday, I felt a need to reach for the classics – those wonderful trusty items that never fail. And what could be more classic than a lovely plaid skirt, an oxford-cloth shirt and a cardigan. This stunningly well-made shirt is from Muism – and the prim parts fit flawlessly with just a tiny bit of adjustment. With it, I wore the Irelyn Houndstooth scarf to match the fabric in the Vogart skirt.
The skirt is from Vogart and as always is a perfectly made a-ling prim skirt. I wish Vogart made more skirts because Vogart skirts are the most well-made I have. They simply look perfect everytime. The cardigan is from Frangipani Designs – a simple classic with classic good looks. Continue reading
Membership has its privileges
I had just finished dressing and was ready to shoot an outfit last night when I received a Group Notice from Iota Ultsch of Tres Jolie. This group is a bit different from other SL groups in that you are more likely to get an invitation to come dance the night away as a new product notice. She loves to have fun with her group – and so it was easy to forego shooting photos and pop over to Tres Jolie for a hello. Continue reading
Dots & Fleurishes
Le Petite Fleur has more than an outrageously fun group gift. The store has lots of lovely dresses. The one I am wearing today is a confection with a cream base and several tones of dots in all the shades of coffee, from latte to mocha to espresso. I really wanted to wear this particular necklace, so I took of the dotted bodice that comes with it and chose another top. Continue reading
What do you call a dress that is almost free?
So…I am wandering around the Best of Italian Design sim – popping in to test a store SLUrl I added to the directory – and discovered OC: Orage Creations and dropped everything I was doing just to enjoy the marvelously surreal designs. Although most were priced about average for high fashion gowns, there were two dresses indistinguishable from the others in quality, but marked down without fanfare to 10 and 20L. I snapped them up and decided to share the wealth by spreading the word. The first one I put together with MiaSnow’s magnificently eccentric Wild Woman Hair – a magic chair gift. She kindly set the chair to 5 minutes, so it won’t take you all day to win. I thought the wild span of the hair and the wild black plumage at the top of the dress was a nice pairing.
Holy Pink Leopards, Batman, It's Part III
There is a second workroom at the Photo Studio – on the ocean floor. Down there we have two photospheres set up and that’s where we have all sort of silliness laying around to dress up photos. From moons, to rainbows to shamrocks to raining rose petals on wedding cakes, we have a garden of strangeness on the ocean floor. You can see some of the things to play with behind me in this photo in which I am wearing pink leopard skin. Now what could get me to wear pink leopard skin? Continue reading
Curio-sity Captured Cajsa
This is a quickie. I had another post ready to go when I forgot the store name on the skirt and in searching, discovered it was from a Business in a Box – and who can tell if it’s legitimate or not, so I threw everything out. However, I did have this cute outfit from Beauty Avatar that I wanted to highlight for its casual simplicity. I tossed it on with those elegant go-with-anything silk heels from Paper Couture and a Group Gift necklace I received from Curio today. The only thing that would make me happier with the top is if the two pieces of the top were on separate layers instead of one – because I like to play with my clothes.
Besides, what I really want you to focus on is the skin. Isn’t it lovely? Continue reading
Treasure Hunting 4
In an effort to combine posts, I thought I would start with this shoe-centric photo featuring a lovely pair of shoes I found at the Shoe Expo today. I thought these shoes from Decoyhad that lovely summery feeling that suited the dress that is Baiastice Treasure Hunt #8, the Pop Dress. The shoes are fabulous wedges with a bright turquoise upper with beautiful fine beige edging. The open to and graceful slingback add to a casual, summer sensibility.
Treasure Hunting #2
Posted by Cajsa Lilliehook
There are treasure hunts and then there are treasure hunts with real treasure like this one at Baiastice. In this photo, I am wearing hunt item #18 – the Delicacy top from Baiastice. The treasure pouch also gives you another in blue that is just as yummy. I tried it with a few skirts and jeans and it looked great with the Adam n Eve leather pants I wore the other day, but I decided that I really liked how it suited the MG Fashions Maria skirt’s dropped waist. Additionally, the color match was perfect.
Stardust Memories
Stardust Memories…
Sometimes I wonder why I spend
The lonely night dreaming of a song
The melody haunts my reverie
And I am once again with you
When our love was new
And each kiss an inspiration
But that was long ago
Now my consolation
Is in the stardust of a song
Oh, that Hoagie Carmichael sure could write a great song, a timeless classic that will still be sung if and when we ever travel to the stars. This dress, Daphne Diamond, from Casa del Shai, has that same sort of classic timelessness. I can picture Greta Garbo sparkling in this, but I can also close my eyes and see Deanna Troi waltzing in it at some intergalactic ballroom.
What makes it a classic? The elegant simplicity of its lines, the subtle soft sensuous fabric, the always chic silvery gray color, and the way it clings and sways to the body. Then there is the simple and restrained embellishment of stardust on the skirt. It is a dress that could last forever. And oh….is it ever sexy. Continue reading
