Dressing2Shop

I think when you’re shopping you should dress well enough that you don’t feel all pathetic and underdressed and end up buying out the store. However, I do think shopping in a ball gown is lagtastic. I like to dress the way I would in RL, comfortably in chic casual clothing with some layering in case the air condition is on. This little mashup of items form Anuenue, Kookie and Canimal is just right. The shoes, by the way, are from Kalnins and it’s worth it to make a size 11 foot copy of your shape and toss in the folder with the shoes for easy dressing.

Fukmi Sideways – No, Seriously

posted by Gidge Uriza

Is it me, or do I look like I’m being stalked in this picture? GET AWAY!

Just kidding.

I’m making my way through the VIP hunt gifts and this one is a little out of order – it’s from the creator Fukmi Sideways who, although I knew her from Plurk, I’d never visited her store until the hunt. While there I picked up a cute bikini for my beach time this Memorial Day holiday! Continue reading

Blacklace Whimsy

posted by Gidge Uriza

It was really Ivey Deschanel’s fault. She made these huge floopy boudouir slippers that required new lingerie to wear with them. I’d had them a few days and already felt bad for having nothing new to parade around the house in with them. So I slipped over to the SXY2nd Sim and into Blacklace to check out what I just hd to have and ran into this SWEET little set. Continue reading

Ad Parnassum

So after shooting that lovely gown from ROC yesterday, I figured I probably should go look at the store. It’s in a store called The Secret Garden, shared with another designer of lovely women’s gowns. However, my eyes definitely strayed to the ROC side and just about popped out of my head when I saw this dress – called Jazmina.  Although closer inspection reveals it has nothing to do with my favorite painting in the whole world ever, it still made me think of Klee’s Ad Parnassum and I had to have it. Had to! The colors, as you can see are completely similar – and the stones are the same size, but other than that, the similarity is coincidental as I asked the designer Renena Olivier and she had not heard of the painting before. That is a portion of Ad Parnsassum in the back.

The Greatest Spectacle In Motor Racing Fashion

posted by Gidge Uriza

First and foremost, when dressing for the Indy 500, you gotta consider your feet. It’s gonna be a hell of a walk to your car, even if you have a sweet party house nearby that you call base camp, it’s still a mile or more in urban landscape. So sneaks are in order. The Urban Bomb Unit’s DRUNKS are only my second purchase from that shop but still, those two pair of shoes remain among my favorites. Scripted like mad with color change options on EVERY PART of the shoe, you can truly make an unimaginable range of sneaks out of this one pair of shoes. Plus they are size scripted, so no messy modding going on – truly appreciated. Continue reading

Flexible Fashions

I am a bad, bad, bad blogger. I cannot remember how this dress found its way into my inventory yesterday, but it did.  I suppose it was from one of the fashion blogging groups I have joined recently. (Update: It was Fashion Trends group gift.) However, not knowing how I got it is not going to stop me from showing it off because it’s a stunner and gives you two options for the bodice and three for the skirt – and you can do the math on those permutations.

Indy 500 Formal Fashion

If you know the right people, you don’t get just invited to cook-outs and up scale house parties or club venues. You get invited to fancy shmancy 500 affairs like the Governor’s Ball and the like. They’re all over town and the ladies in their black and white strive to put one another to shame. Continue reading

Quick Look – Rebel Hope

I ran over to check out the 1920’s Berlin build and when I popped in, I saw that we were asked to dress for the period. I have folders inside folders inside folders in my inventory and in my Clothing Folder, there is a Vintage folder and inside that there is a Twenties folder. So I popped this on and was ready to go.

Indy 500 Fever

posted by Gidge Urza

Indy 500 fever will be gripping the greater Indianapolis area as the parties and events leading up to the big race are in FULL Swing by now. (ah, I do miss it). Party hopping on Friday before the race used to be a full-on social requirement and the only requirement for being fashionable, was to ROCK the black and white.

I was wandering around Retrology just seeing what I needed and still didn’t have and ambled into this really cute set from Encore. Meeting all the requirements of casual, cute and black & white I decided it was a win for Friday festivities! Continue reading
