I ♥ Tintable

I thought about calling this “Peach Me, I’m Dreaming” but realized that would be a new low in word play and demurred. Instead, I thought I might focus on how wonderful it is to have tintable clothing items that enable mixing and matching with a broader number of choices.  Now, when I saw the Morcade dress at French Touch last week, I fell in love. It’s just beautifully made and for 1L, it’s the steal of the grid.  Gidge blogged it at FreeStyle along with a host of 1L dresses from there. Soon after we were at the fishing hole on Zion and there was a gorgeous woman wearing that dress which lead to a three way conversation about way to wear the top without the skirt. She put on a grey wool pair of pants and looked luscious.

I went back to the photo studio and tried a bunch of skirts and they all looked good, but the look that melted my butter was this one – with the ALB Dream Fashion Dior dress. I just tinted it a bit to get it peachy instead of creamy and yum!!!

It Is Better to Look Marvelous…

….than to feel marvelous.

That’s been me lately, I’ve been a little under the weather but no worries I’ll recover. I thought, since I was feeling kinda blah that the only cure was to simply be gorgeous. Continue reading

You Put the Lime in the Coconut.

While I was at Coco the other day picking up those red-red-red pants, I also saw these luscious lime pants – same style, different color. I had to have them because lime is such a fun color and so cheery and happy. When I went to the Velvet on Sunday for Maht’s usual Sunday set, I popped on this outfit that included a gorgeous floral cardigan from Coco as well.

Amber Waves of Grain

I dropped into 6Pi the other day –  a beautiful sim for the Fall into Decay store and just fell in love. I saw a picture of it in New World Notes – the SL news blog. There was an article highlight Koin-Up SL Explorers group and there were these stunning photos that made me write it down for exploring when I logged in.

I know the Donna Flora pantsuit is a touch dressy for exploring, but that’s one of the lovely things about SL. I don’t have to worry about cockleburrs and dry-cleaning.

Inspi(Red)

There’s a very clever ad campaign to raise money for and global awareness of the AIDS epidemic. It’s called Join Red and is not a charity – but a business model that encourages consumers to purchase from member companies who then contribute to the Global Fund. You can recognize a lot of the Red companies because they have clever variations of words ending in Red – like inspi(red) and wi(red) and so on.  I could not help but think of it when I tried on the hot, hot red of the new shoes from Aphrodite Outlander of Aphrodite Creations (AC) which had me searching for an intense enough red to  wear with it. These pants from Coco sure fit the bill so I put together a red look.  And in keeping with that theme, I ask you to check out Join Red and learn what products you can purchase to direct funding to the Global Fund as well.

Sunday Mish Mash

I wore this gorgeous piece -KABUKI- from Mon Amour the other day over at Second Style – and well, frankly, I just wasn’t done wearing it. It was just to wicked awesome to let go that quickly. So I decided to flip around a few things and see what shoot out for a completely different look. Continue reading

Flowers on Fire

Here’s another wardrobe staple, the LBD or Little Black Dress. One of the great features of the LBD is its ability to function as a frame for luscious jewelry which is what this dress from Skin Flicks is doing perfectly.

Dark Mouse was justly recognized as an outstanding new jeweler in the Best of SL awards and this is just one example of why. Her jewelry is quirky and original with a highly personal vision. She generally makes all her items in gold, silver and copper. This gold version has a black stone while the copper has a firey red and the silver a dark lapiz.

Late For Prom…..

posted by Gidge Uriza

It will probably not surprise even the most casual reader that I graduated high school with almost a dozen formal gowns in my closet.

I went to a lot of proms and formal dances – what can I say?  Where else could I let out my inner princess dammit? Continue reading

Lush Life

Years and years and years ago, Billy Strayhorn wrote an amazing song that has been performed by John Coltrane and Herbie Hancock, Ella Fitzgerald and Queen Latifah, Natalie and Nat King Cole and now – the Nat King Cole version has been re-engineered by Cee-lo Green. The title is Lush Life – though the lyrics are really quite sad and cynical.

I’ll live a lush life in some small dive…

But, despite the cynicism of the lyrics, the romanticism and lush beauty of the melody makes this song truly one of the great classics and a song that comes to mind when I see some truly extraordinary gown that is rich and lush with color and pattern and life – as is this Noell gown from LeeZu.

Perhaps it’s because it might be the song sung by the chanteuse on the stage at some romantic club.
