So I’m sick. In RL. I’ll spare you the details, but let’s just say that there is snot, a sore throat that disallows proper speech and hot burning ears. There is also some coughing.

A lot of role play areas have great items that are fantastic for costumes. Not to be missed are some of the Egyptian role play areas (seriously just search EGYPT) where some of the most lavish costumes I’ve ever come across can be found.
I hunted for an Isis or other Egyptian costume for a party earlier this year and scavenged all over the grid looking for the one I wanted. Part of my challenge was that I had fallen in love with this hair from Tekeli Li and didn’t want to wear different hair but the costumes I found had hair that REALLY had to be worn with the otufit. Sweet little complete outfit includes the shoes and it’s just a hoot – lots of skull details etc…..I’m loving it for ZERO! I added the Una hair from House of Heart……It’s Mahvelous and totally fun for Halloween club gear!

There are lots of way to kick up the elegance of dreary old brown and this dress from <3 Cupcakes is a great example of what shades of brown can bring to the table with regards to elegance. Muted browns and beiges make the Fiona dress almost easy to not notice, it’s so subtle.
Throw on a set up heels, some pearls and sweep up your hair and you’ve got an elegant evening in the bag.
And good grief, did I forget to do my nails? Lord what’s next? Forgive me Fashionistas…….I’m only human too!

Jewelry with religious tones is always fascinating to me, be it an Ankh or a Cross or something from the east (okay technically the ankh is from EAST of me but I’m thinking EAST of that). I like especially like wearing Celtic Crosses (that’s the Irish in me) and this stylized Celtic set from Earthstones is a great modern take on an intricate traditional style.
