Color Me Cashmere

Cashmere – the must luxurious and sensuous of knits. It is the epitome of YUM and PixelDolls have been doing cashmere right.

But first, let me just say something about PixelDolls because they along with Digit Darkes and Nyte & Day have a special place in my heart. They were the first three stores I shopped at after Gidge rescued me the day I met her and showed me there was more to Second Life than freebie dungeons.

Yes, she rescued me. I was so dumb I walked under a ramp and got stuck and couldn’t figure out why I could not move and this sweet woman said, “I think you are trying to walk through a wall, dear.”  Continue reading

The "It" Dress

The bandage dress that Herve Leger sprang on the world back in 1989 remains the ideal dress to highlight the feminine form. Clearly the Cleo dress from Cachet, though vastly different, has its roots in that iconic dress. Like the bandage dress that used the weaving of dyed bandages to create the sexiest, most form-fitting dresses on the runways, the Cleo’s bodice shows the intricate weaving of bandage strips that cling and cling and cling – revealing everything and nothing. To me, it’s the sexiest dress on the grid.

Music is My Aeroplane

posted by Gidge Uriza

Sometimes I get a review pack from someone I’ve never heard of, and this can be the most fun of all. It’s like being given a bag of treasure. There are so many places to shop on The Grid, you couldn’t EVER hit them all simply due to the fact that places open and close faster than you could complete your list.

I think that’s sort of exciting and daunting at the same time. Continue reading

In the year 2525

So Gidge said I look like a futuristic rock chick in this dress – I suppose it’s the epaullets. I wonder if they are properly called epaullets when they are on a floral print drop dead gorgeous dress and not on a uniform.  I will call them epaullets because it sounds so much more official than doodads and much more attractive than exo-skeleton or shoulder pads on the outside or wing-dings. Whatever you decided to call them, you ahve to admit they give this dress a marvelous profile.

Ruby

Is there anything sexier that a form-fitting, softly-flowing jersey sheath with a pencil skirt? This black and white print sheath makes a good argument that there is not.  Sexy, chic and simple, who could ask for more that this gorgeous dress from Little Rebel. It makes me think of the lyrics from Ruby.

Youve painted up your lips and rolled and curled your tinted hair.
Ruby are you contemplating going out somewhere?
The shadow on the wall tells me the sun is going down –
Oh Ruby, don’t take your love to town.

Popular? I Know About POP-U-LAR!

posted by Gidge Uriza

Kungler’s has started putting out luxurious evening wear, and with the holiday season coming up full speed it’s never too early to start adding pieces for your fall/winter events. This elegant formal look boasts sleek lines, reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn – with over the top elegance on the bolero prim.

You can always expect variety with Kunglers releases, so you’ll find the bolero on different layers and lovely options on how to put this look together. So if you want elegant but the poofy bolero is too much, you can just wear it without the prim attachment for a sleek jacket look. Continue reading

Forty Four Degrees? <3 Gloves

I have been experimenting with coming into work 3 hours earlier than usual at 5:30 AM. It’s a surreal time of the morning. The streets are empty and all the coffeeshops are closed. My early morning ritual latte before the bus where I would ponder which of four coffeeshops to choose no longer an option. The bus riders are a more proletarian group and there is no lively conversation, instead silence reigns. What suprprises me most, though it shouldn’t, is how cold it is in the morning. 44 degrees and foggy. So I dug out my gloves to keep my hands warm. It’s strange, but if my hands are warm enough, I am warm enough. If my hands are cold I feel miserable. Warm hands = Happy Cajsa. Continue reading

Flawlessly Comme il Faut

When I saw that Comme il Faut was producing a design for Passions of the Black Swan, I was eager to see the result. Moire Georgette’s designs have the timeless glamour of Greta Garbo and I was hoping to see something Garbo would wear and was not disappointed with her offerings, l’oiseau rebel (red) and l’oiseau triste (blue/purple) Continue reading

Show me the way to the next whiskey bar!

I have always loved the lyrics to Moon of Alabama and when I photographed this dress from the newly opened Zullay Designs I knew a butt shot or two were in order. It’s that kind of dress, the one you wear when you feel like some flirting. Show me the way to the next whisky bar. Oh, don’t ask why, no don’t ask why.
