Sometimes you don’t want to look elegant, you just want to look hawt! This little mini dress from EXiA will certainly accomplish that.

Rouge et Noir
The colors of Modern Gypsy’s new winter collection are red, black and white. They are such powerful colors – passionate and bold and perfect, of course, for the strong patterns and shapes of these designs. I confess to absolute infatuation. This dress is particularly entrancing. It’s a beautiful and elegant cocktail gown – yet the top layer of the skirt fabric makes me think of light reflecting on a roadway. The way the white seems to glitter out of focus like the lights reflected on a wet street. So much beauty – and yet evoking such a gritty image.
Office Christmas Party
For an office holiday party, I think the best strategy is wearing something that is appropriate for any time, and making it seasonal with accessories. That’s why this lovely plaid jacket and skirt from Modern Gypsy strikes me as the perfect holiday party outfit. It’s got the holiday colors, but is not too bang-pow-Christmas-in-your-face. Where I work less than half the staff celebrates Christmas as part of their religion. If we had a party for all our staff religious holidays from Eid to Diwali to Yom Kippur to Vesak and so on – well, we would have a lot of parties. So, we don’t have a party – just leave early for happy hour one day. This works for happy hour too. I love how this is so professional, yet so exuberant.
A Date with Frosty the Snowman
Well, not really, but if I did have a date with Frosty, I could not go wrong with this amazing gown from MiaMai. The gown is called Ever East and is a sinuous sexy shimmer of a gown that sleekly slides along your form. With a higher than thou side slit, it’s a perfect reveal of the fantastic Ice Queen skin from PXL Creations. A special holiday gift makeup for the fabulous July skin, this skin has delicate tracery tattooing on the legs, back, bodice and arms.
Big & Bold:Red & Black
So Modern Gypsy designer Micah Kanto invited me over to see the new store and new Winter collection and I just fell in love with nearly everything! When I walked into the room with the Winter 2010 Collection, I went on point like a hunting dog and said one word: Red! Of course, the collection is more than red, there’s black and white and it’s full of strong graphic textures and bold prints like this larger than life houndstooth print in this gorgeous Humble Heiress dress from the collection.
I took a quick snap so you can see how strong an impression this cohesive collection makes as a whole. It’s really an amazing piece of work and tells a real story. Nina and Michael would definite judge it a winner.
Snow Butterfly
Agnes Finney of My Precious knows something that we don’t. There are butterflies in the snow!!! Well, at least Snow Butterfly dresses. And you know, if those butterflies knew they would look this good in the snow, they might not fly south for the winter.
Brrrrrr
Snow has fallen at Embryo and there’s a chill in the air. Nonetheless, it’s an extraordinarily beautiful place to stop and snap some pictures. Silly me, though, I forgot my coat.
Nothing like fooling around a bit to warm you up. I could not resist the candy cane antlers from Studio Sidhe. They’re adorable and flexible. You can wear them and go shopping and walk around as normal until you feel like surprising your friends with the pose and simply run the animation. Besides, everyone knows laughter warms you up.
It's a Wonderful Night
It’s a wonderful night
You’ve gotta take it from me.
It’s a wonderful night
Come on and break it on down
I love this outfit I put together using part of the Rock Top mini dress from +plus and the asymmetrical skirt from CoCo. It’s a great dance party outfit and deserves a hot night on the dance floor. The top has gorgeous silver studs on the sleeves and a prim chain attaching at the neckline. With such great embellishments, I didn’t feel a necklace was needed at all.
COCO Christmas
I love plaid and this plaid skirt from COCO is delectable. This is the Royal Stewart tartan and is one of my favorites. The asymmetrical skirt is one of the best sculptie skirts I have every seen and looks great walking, posing and dancing – the ultimate sculptie skirt test. The blouse is a present I received last year – a lovely woman’s shirt from Alphamale.
Quick Look: DG Innovations, Exile
The Dinna dress from DG Innovations has amazing embroidery detail. It comes in several colors, but I chose the olive because it made me think of peacocks.
