Yaaaaawn Stretch. Hiyas everyone. You all have Callie Cline to blame for my transformation into the most spoiled kitty on The Grid. I just went over to buy a couple of dresses, but there it was, the tail by Psychotic Neko for Callie Cline and the diamond Nekoture ears…….and I was hooked. Come on, how could I not love something THIS girly?

I thought I’d torture you and make you follow the glammiest, prissiest kitty ever around for a day. There are even two SUPER SPECIAL GUEST STARS in today’s post, but you gotta WAIT for them!

To start our kitty day, we need a bath. NO, we are not afraid of water. As long as the water comes from a fancy roman bath…….quit staring, you bum lookers.

Keep It Simple, Stupid

I’m not normally a big fan of “natural” makeups on skins, that au natural look that is so 2008.  But some people do it well. My first thought when trying on Rykers Genesis-Eden skin in the 1st Time makeup was – Beach Face!

Ok ok ok, it’s not SL Beach Face.

But, it’s sort of MY beach face. In RL. Pale skin, freckled by the sun, pink lips – clear complexion.  It’s obviously meant to convey a very natural wholesome beauty and I think that Ryker really achieved that with this – giving definition and form to what is often a washed out nude on other skins. Once upon a time, when we were just two instead of five, my fiancee and I stood on a Florida beach at night, down at the edge of our campsite and danced under the moon and stars to Cold Play’s YELLOW. 

The sound of the water, and the wind through the palms swirled around Chris Martin’s mysterious vocals as well held each other tight and marveled at being in such a place an in love. Continue reading →

Black is Black

ooooh, the new Gothic skin from Tuli is darling.It combines the delicacy of the Elizabeth features with a luminous porcelain skin. When you add the Vamp makeup with its kohl-lined eyes and the carmine lips and you have a face that would make Clara Bow happy.  In honor of it’s gothic perfection, I even gave myself a quick color rinse and have black hair for the night.

The Answer is Blowing in the Wind

Do you ever want to shoot a photo with your hair blowing in the wind – and don’t want to mess with a prim-eating, lag-inducing, angle-limiting N30 just to get some wind effects?  Why not just get hair that’s already blowing in the wind?  Oops, did I sound a bit negative there? It’s my 8th day as a non-smoker and I am feeling cranky. Ignore that, and focus on the hair. 

This particular hair is from Aden and is called Windblown – a name that captures everything you need to know which makes it one of the few hairstyles with a name that is actually descriptive of what it looks like and requires no memorization. Gosh, that’s cranky sounding too!!! I think I should just post a couple photos and the style notes and shut up.

As a former island dweller I have an ridiculous collection of beachwear – and madly enough I’m still buying. Well I do have a pool, so at least it gets used.
I had originally run over to Nicky Ree to pick up this lovely piece. But when surfing through her blog, looking at the lovelies to be had at her store and I ran into THIS . Never let it be said that I’m a freebie shopper only, my financial advisor Silo would definitely confirm this.  I instantly fell in love with the set and made a mental note to pick it up some time in the future.

Nicky Ree Brings It For Mothers Day

As I sit lunching on watercress sandwiches with the ladies at the club, I’m endlessly thankful for this lovely summer dress made available for $L1 from Nicky Ree for Mothers Day. Conservatively “in fashion” without being outspoken, it’s the sort of dress one could wear quite appropriately at many social occasions. She includes several skirt options – from this flowery wisp of a skirt to a lovely fitted satin option to take it into evening-wear.
