<3 Pistachio

I have a weakness for pistachios. My sister-in-law would make this deadly concoction called Glorified Rice that you could not pay me to eat. Then she mixed pistachio-flavored Jello Instant Pudding with the Cool-Whip and it became not only edible, but delicious – particularly after removing the canned fruit and sticky sweet maraschino cherries. I know, it sounds horrific – but it had pistachios!!! That infatuation with pistachio extends to the color – so this gorgeous Apres-Midi dress from Baiastice was as irresistible as pistachio ice cream. That it comes with its own hat and gloves is just pistachio icing on the cake.

It's An Emerald Day

posted by Gidge Uriza

Today’s theme is GREEN.

As in Emerald. As in the viewer if finally just downloaded. I haven’t played with it yet. I’m stodgy and don’t like change. So we’ll see.

Know what I DO like? JEWELRY!  I have been meaning to check out the offerings dropped on me from GANKED in a while- and frankly, I’ve seen other people wearing them and have been impressed but I’m in the pregnancy sloth and have gotten sooo lazy.

I changed that the other day. The second I got these gorgeous, excessive gems on me, I had to go shopping for something snappy to wear with them. Continue reading

The Perfect Spring Dress

Squinternet Larnia has made the perfect spring dress. Called Melba Sunrise, it’s a lovely cupcake of a dress made with iridescent taffeta and frosted with iridescent silk chiffon and silver paillettes scattered like nonpareils. With subtle glimpses of blue, yellow and green that shift as you move, it is a soft and gentle spring sunrise.

Sissy Pessoa Does It Again

Sissy Pessoa of Baiastice is always producing wonderful new clothes that are exciting, innovative and fun. Every week or so, it seems there is something new for her customers and fashion addicts to swoon over. So how, then, does she find the time to also produce whole collections to release en masse? I don’t know, but she did it again and if you don’t find something to swoon over, you’re missing the swoon factor.

Going for Baroque

Squinternet Larnia, the avant-coureur innovator behind the brand Donna Flora, has a genius for baroque jewelry with extravagantly bold clusters of gems, crystals and pearls. Her new creation, Emmanuelle, for the Accessory Fair is no exception. I struggled so hard to decide what to wear with it because there were so many options – should I wear lavender, purple, black, cream, gold, red or some combination thereof? With this bold combination of gems, I could go any direction I wanted. Vintage or modern? Avant-garde or classical? There’s real brilliance involved in creating jewelry that you can take with you on many very different journeys in style. I confess to going overboard on the photos, so if you want to see more, they are in the Emmanuelle set on my Flickr.

What To Wear To a Theme Party?

posted by Gidge Uriza

Our second computer is fritzed, so I couldn’t bring Silo along as my date for the Second Style Sim opening theme party which was replete with gorgeous couples in costumes of famous lovers.

But I needed to go, even just for a while. I was not only excited about the Sim opening but you know, I WORK FOR THEM, so it would’ve been really inappropriate to miss – but – WHAT TO FLIPPING WEAR? Continue reading

Flirtatious Frills

Sissy Pessoa of Baiastice has made a delightful array of gorgeous pleated skirts. I love the length, longer than the usual SL mini but short enough to be flirty. In fact, everything about the skirt and the frilly blouses that she also made to mix and match with them is flirtatious…I guess she was putting in the Valentine’s Day spirit in mood and form rather than just in colors.

Enchantment

Sometimes there is a dress that enchants me. It is so new, so breathtakingly fresh that I just have to play and find different ways to look at it. It makes me experiment with my photos and hunt out places to shoot and just to see what more I can do because it’s inspiring in its originality.

Gelsomina from Donna Flora is just such a dress. I could not stop shooting pictures and have quite the collection on Flickr. First there’s the exuberant combination of lustrous gold in the underskirt, with layers of net, tulle, charmeus and silk ombre. Add the magnolias scattered over the dress and the hairdo that would make Madame Pompadour green with envy and you have a magical enchantment.

Say Yes to the Dress

One of the silliest reality shows on cable is ‘Say Yes to the Dress” about the ups and downs of selling wedding dresses as a high end New York retailer known as Kleinfeld’s. It’s inane, but I had to watch it once just because I loved the name of the show. I love to say Yes to the dress – and it’s so easy when the dress is as lovely as this Wilder gown from MiaMai.

Mambo No. 5

I hopped over to watch the Musashi-Do Fashion Show yesterday and wanting to be a good audience member, I dug in my closet a bit and slipped into a lovely bit of low arc clothing from Ingenue.  The dress is Mama Loves Mambo and you know what, I do love the mambo. It’s a sexy shimmying song perfect for figure-hugging dresses like this one. The lovely sash down one side sways to the music and adds a lively touch to your dancing.
