Travels in Egypt
The Accessory Fair has gone to Egypt where a river of inspiration resulted in beautiful jewelry and accessories worthy of a Pharaoh or a Pharaoh’s Tomb.
One of the first places to visit there is Mood featuring jewelry by Jori Watler. Mood is where you go for modern classics, designs that look au courant forever. This set is th Egiziano Dea Ensemble.

A Twofer as Time Is Running Out
This is Nyte’n’Day’s lovely RFL Clothing Fair dress – worn with Alyssa Bijou’s Firenze jewelry set also for RFL I love the sleek and graceful dress but wish the jewelry came with instructions to turn off the sparkle. It’s not obnoxious bling, but I still wanted to turn it off so I could more fully enjoy the lovely sprays of diamonds.
This is Tres Beau’s incredible Amethyst gown for RFL Clothing Fair paired with Dahlinks Czarina set for RFL. The gown is amazing – and comes with two sets of prims – those with and without sparkle. I tossed the ones with sparkle because I know me and will never wear that, but the sparkle-free is just amazing!
Renegade
Adam n Eve like to do things a bit differently than most stores – and that’s true with their offerings for the RFL Clothing Fair. In addition to the more traditional Ruffles dress you saw the other day, they put out Renegade, a decidedly not the usual RFL pink or lavendar girly confection. featuring jeans and a hot bomber jacket (photo after the cut.) The jeans come with a cute red camo crop top, but I wanted something to tuck in. I picked up this gorgeous top at Apple May Designs at the fair instead and decided I just love it.
Unbelievably, it’s already the last day of the Clothing Fair. Many, though not all, items you have seen on the many blogs featuring RFL items are exclusive to the fair and won’t be available after midnight SLT. If that’s not enough reason to run-don’t walk to the fair right now, there are the magnificent builds that people spents weeks making. It’s worth the lag, the crowds and everything just to see the wonderful builds.
C'est Si Bon
The Cherish dress from Tres Beau that I found at the Clothing Fair is a wow! Since the store is French in name – I thought of the song “C’est Si Bon” with the oh-so-appropriate lines: ” With big Cadillac cars/Mink coats – jewels/As big as your fist – you know?” was a perfect choice. The necklace from Yabusaka for the Accessory Fair is not as big as your first, but I love the style – and the contemporary to traditional contrast of the jewelry and the dress.
Now, who can turn down the opportunity to listen to Eartha?
Momma Was An Opium Smoker
Not really! That’s just the name of this lovely rose quartz and gold jewelry set from Ticky Tacky made for the Accessory Fair. With a name like that I knew I had to show it off – especially since it it really cute. How lucky, then, that it is such a great match with the Adam N Eve dress for the RFL Clothing Fair. Does the Fashion World Ever Stop for Breath?
This outfit combines elements from three events that are going on right now, the Accessory Fair, the Clothing Fair and Melt, an Installation on Thin Ice…and there’s a Pose Fair on the way. As the title asks, does the Fashion World ever stop for breath? I don’t think so. Anyway, let’s start with the glorious Accessory Fair jewelry from SPICA. I have a long love for SPICA’s jewelry and was so happy to see the store included in the Accessory Fair because that would mean something NEW! and there sure are some lovely new items including pearl necklaces, bracelets and earrings in black and white. The white pearl jewelry was the ideal complement to the dress, it’s pearls small and delicate enough to work well with the froth of net and crystals on the bodice.
The Sum of All Things (plus a fitting tip)
The next highlight from the Accessory Fair is from Sigma. Sigma happens to be one of my favorite Greek letters – as mathematically it is the sign for summing everything that follows. It iis the Sum of All Things – now doesn’t that sound powerful and important? Such a significant name is justified by the unique statement jewelry from Sigma. The details are right, the elements are organic and natural and the designs are modern and powerful. I think that pretty much sums up the parts of comtemporary jewelry making that make a whole greater than the sum of its parts. Of course, great jewelry deserves great clothing and this is no exception.
Making It Work
When I saw the Hydra necklace from Rozoregalia I knew exactly the sort of dress I wanted to wear with it and began casually looking around for something. The search became more urgent when designer Yumi Pausch released the Hydra Handrings for the Accessory Fair. I knew I had to find what I wanted – a black formal with a narrow silhouette and sheer upper bodice that would draw your eye from the black of the dress to the powerful statement necklace. Seriously, when dressing with jewelry this strong, you want to do it justice.
