Amazon

I look a bit sad in this photo – probably because I am standing in a rainforest in the rain. Why? Well, wearing a dress called Amazonia, where else would I be?  But first, let’t look at this marvelous necklace and earrings from Sian Burke who is new to me. A Jewelry Expo discovery, I fell in love with the natural look of the gold – no glow, no full bright, no bling – just elegant natural rich gold. Yummmmmmy!

Charlie!

Okay, so I am a terrible skin reviewer.  For one, I care more about how the face and the makeup look than the shape of the tuches. I must confess, though, that the new Aleri Darkes Virgo skin has a great tuches which I noticed while shooting Gidge last night for an upcoming post on some lingerie. Secondly, who ever heard of talking about skin with a fake mustache and eyebrows? oh well…

I feel pretty, oh so pretty

Maria sang that song in West Side Story and it’s exactly how I felt when I put on this dress and one of the lovely new Aleri Darkes skins.  Now you skin lovers out there, you have the opportunity to find all sorts of lovely skins during the current hunt at her store. You just need to find the cookies – and this is what they look like.

The Poisoned Apple

When you want to feel ghoulish and girlish at the same time, I suggest you head over to Lemania Indigoo’s place.  She says Halloween is her favorite holiday and she is making it easy for us to celebrate in style with several costumes. One stunner is her Wicked Stepmother costume – and in the holiday spirit, she’s offering it for only 100 L at Hotel Dare. So get thee gone!

Hat Tip

Sometimes the best way to find the cutest top or whathaveyou is seeing it on someone else. While stopping at Hotel Dare to pick up a costume I will be posting later today I ran into fellow fashionista and It’s Only Fashion reader, Annabella Donner, who was wearing an adorable top. Really adorable, so I asked her where she got it and she sent me to Samara Designs and now I am wearing it in this photo.

Oola-La – Last Year's Official Costume!

WHO MADE ME?

WHO MADE ME?

posted by Gidge Uriza

I spent forever last year deciding what was my OFFICIAL “THIS IS MY HALLOWEEN COSTUME” costume. Because I had a lot of events to HOSTESS, plus events to attend, plus my OWN house party plus the Vicious Party….well…..I kind of had a lot of costumes. But I wanted ONE to be my official costume.

I found this at a shop called Around the Fountain which also seemed to have a GREAT selection of other costumes.

The problem I am having though – is that I can’t find it now. Continue reading

Mmmm, Soft

Don’t you just love cashmere? When the weather gets damp and dreary, I want to throw my cashmere sweaters in a pile on the bed and bury myself under them.  However, for their sake, I will just wear one at a time. This one is from SN@TCH and comes with a color-changing cashmere scarf that gives you so many options you could play get lost in texture-switching. So, discipline yourself, pick one and go for it.

There was a full moon last night

I went to Tusk last night -ooh, it’s so perfect for Halloween. In fact, it’s just beautiful all around with wonderful hidden grottos for cuddling with your significant ones, a skating pond with a few eerie shadows and then the marvelous castle – where Silent Sparrow is among the  retailers renting space. I had not planned to buy anything, but this outfit at the Silent Sparrow satellite store was too perfect for the setting to pass up. You could call it Serendipity.  In fact, you have to call it Serendipity because that’s the name of the dress.

Riviera Couture

Some of my favorite finds at the Glamour Expo were at Riviera Couture. Take this dress for example. Look at the bold use of color – olive and teal and gold in a dynamic floral pattern, assembled in flowing layers with a sure and confident hand – the Sarah dress is a great dress for fall.
