Princess Odette:Freed by the Ivalde Challenge

posted by Gidge Uriza

The beautiful Princess Odette, immortalized by the ballet SWAN LAKE, has been freed from her cursed life as a swan by the beautiful Sevina Gown by Ivalde.

Surrounded by Ethereal Ghosts of the Swans who served as her family and captors…….Odette spins and dances her joy upon being set free.

At least, that was my first thought upon seeing this new release from Ivalde and getting an invitation to request a review item from Beulah!  Continue reading

Music is My Aeroplane

Sometimes I get a review pack from someone I’ve never heard of, and this can be the most fun of all. It’s like being given a bag of treasure. There are so many places to shop on The Grid, you couldn’t EVER hit them all simply due to the fact that places open and close faster than you could complete your list.

I think that’s sort of exciting and daunting at the same time. Continue reading

Down the Rabbit Hole

When I went to Chakryn Forest I had no idea I would be falling down the rabbit hole. I just knew I had dressed up like a giant salt water taffy and should stay away from seaside resorts. You know, my favorite group in Second Life® is the Impossible In Real Life group. I get weekly (or thereabouts) notices of new builds and highlights – places to go, things to see. Many of the places I use in my photos I found through NPIRL. Chakryn Forest is just such a place and home of the group owner and organizer, Bettina Tizzy.

This is a forest for wandering – there’s hidden caves, underwater forests and a handsome Frenchman waiting to show you around, saying “Venez!” Actually, I presume he is not always there, but I was lucky enough to tp there when he was channeling his inner tour guide. Anyway, he’s the one that showed me through the rabbit hole.

This is just part of a lovely House of Cards Tableau, but i will let you find the rest yourself. Just find the White Rabbit and go straight south. Continue reading

Chantilly Lace

Chantilly lace and a pretty face
And a pony tail hanging down
That wiggle in the walk and giggle in the talk
Makes the world go round

Okay, I just love that song and would dig it out for anything, but it seems to fit with the lovely lace in this jacket. I have another prim jacket of lace made by Rano Noel that I blogged recently. Sadly her store is closed, her website is down and she has not responded to several im’s and note card inquiries. I can only conclude the has left SL for awhile.

Because that jacket was a wardrobe staple I pulled out a lot, I knew I had to find one that met those same needs so I would not be repeatedly blogging one item that you have no chance of finding. So I asked my friend Miffy to make a new one. Basically what was needed was a prim jacket (so you can wear it over those frequent jacket-layer-only tops), that was tintable and had a lace texture to reveal the top underneath and not look too heavy. Dots & Fleurishes

Le Petite Fleur has more than an outrageously fun group gift. The store has lots of lovely dresses. The one I am wearing today is a confection with a cream base and several tones of dots in all the shades of coffee, from latte to mocha to espresso. I really wanted to wear this particular necklace, so I took of the dotted bodice that comes with it and chose another top. Continue reading

Patriotica – FINALE

posted by Gidge Uriza

I did a very fast and dirty sweep of SL for July 4 Outfits for this series of posts and I have to admit something. When I was at Lemania, I didn’t even let this outfit properly rezz before I bought it. I had just scooped up a boatload of things over a couple of days and had planned to sort it all out back at my estate.

And then I put this on. Continue reading

I Ain't No Holla Back Girl

Miffy was horrified that I had been in SL over a year and only owned on proper set of boots. So when she gave me these – I knew I had to rock a fun outfit to go with. Something MAD MAX vs. spoiled Diva was what I was going for.

Digit Darkes had a L$1 sale on a hidden item, the Piper shirt and it was an incredible find.  Some designers do separates well, some do full outfits, but Digit does both and it’s so much fun to pick up a new piece and see what you can do with it. Continue reading
