The Perfect Spring Dress

Squinternet Larnia has made the perfect spring dress. Called Melba Sunrise, it’s a lovely cupcake of a dress made with iridescent taffeta and frosted with iridescent silk chiffon and silver paillettes scattered like nonpareils. With subtle glimpses of blue, yellow and green that shift as you move, it is a soft and gentle spring sunrise.

Not Quite as Big Hair

Well, Gidge beat me in the Big Hair Olympics – but I think this is a contender.  It’s a style I love from Detour and is called Torrid – a good name because it does seem to just scream torrid, doesn’t it? I like it because it’s full enough and curly enough that it obscures some intersections that inevitably happen and it’s just plain sexy. With it I am wearing a great little top/dress I picked up at the Clothing Fair from Morea Style.

It's Me

Yes, It’s Me under that black hair from !SyDS! that is named It’s Me! Like other !SyDS! hair it is simultaneously marvelous, wonderful, exciting, gorgeous and irritating. I want it in RED!!! I also would love a color script to change the color of the jewels instead of having only pink ones. Please, the quality and innovation is too good to leave us so short on options.  This is one of the fabulous hairstyles !SyDS! made for Accessory Fair 2010 – so get thee hence because even if it’s not red, it’s still red hot! Speaking of red hot….

Fine Arts

If I were an artist, I would not dress all in black like the stereotype. I would wear bright colored prints so I could pretend that a little splatter was actually part of the print. I think this lovely loose and comfy casual dress from LeeZu would be perfect. It allows for total freedom of movement and would allow me to excuse a dab or two of paint – at least in a those colors – and seriously, since I somehow decided to start wearing paintbrushes in my hair, I am going to make some paint messes.

Las Pas in Nirvana – from Nymphetamine

posted by Gidge Uriza

There is a lovely area of the Nymphetamine Isle that has been set up as a romantic hideaway……Nirvana. I decided that since I was reshooting the beautiful Las Pas gown and lingerie (I had previously shot nothing but long hair stuck into my boobs) that I’d go give it a whirl and see what there was to see. A Twofer as Time Is Running Out

This is Nyte’n’Day’s lovely RFL Clothing Fair dress – worn with Alyssa Bijou’s Firenze jewelry set also for RFL I love the sleek and graceful dress but wish the jewelry came with instructions to turn off the sparkle. It’s not obnoxious bling, but I still wanted to turn it off so I could more fully enjoy the lovely sprays of diamonds.

This is Tres Beau’s incredible Amethyst gown for RFL Clothing Fair paired with Dahlinks Czarina set for RFL. The gown is amazing – and comes with two sets of prims – those with and without sparkle. I tossed the ones with sparkle because I know me and will never wear that, but the sparkle-free is just amazing!

In Love With Sysy's Lucy Sweater and Scarf Set

posted by Gidge Uriza

This sweater and scarf set was right on the money, given the arctic blast that is gripping most of the U.S. I had to dress Gidge up warm, lest she catch a cold. The Lucy sweater from Sysy’s has GREAT scarf options – you can wear it around the waist cinched or around your neck – I couldn’t pick so I wore both. Continue reading

I Was a Steampunk Stripper

posted by Gidge Uriza

Well I didn’t bulesque up for the Vaudeville Party last night because I had this badass steampunk gown I’d gotten a couple of weeks ago for a party that fizzled and BY GOD I was going to wear it somewhere.

And since I couldn’t find a proper  George Burns costume I figured this would do nicely for a vaudeville theme. After all – ALL Vaudeville acts weren’t T&A!

But of course as the bulesque music of the night wore on and everyone else WAS dressed in fantastic and gorgeous bulesquery……well…….I simply declared myself a Steampunk Stripper. They’ve got those – right? Continue reading

It's Hilarious!

Oh, this little jacket from Hilarious is adorable. It has such an insouciant, childlike feeling of whimsy in its design and execution that I dare you to wear it and not feel happy.  And the happiness factor can be maximized if you add those fun plaid wool pants from Hilarious as well. Kesseret Steeplechase definitely is the go-to-woman for hand-drawn wool textures that will keep you cuddly cozy.
