Celebration

I love Innovations, with a capital or a lower case I. DG Innovations has long been a favorite store since I first discovered it last year looking for a ball gown for Christmas. It’s well named as the fashions range far and wide in inspiration but stay close to home and consistent in quality.  I wasn’t looking or needing anything new when I dropped by Innovations yesterday – not at all – but then I saw this and all was lost.

The Butterfly Effect

posted by Gidge Uriza

I’m dogmatic about my eyes. I never change them. It’s to the point where I often think I’ll forget to list them in the fashion details – FNKY – PURPLE RAIN. Yet when I recently picked up this festive limited edition skin at Juicy it came packed full of these iridescent eyes with butterfly pupils.

A soft pink make up with delicate details for a girly girl seemed just my sort of skin to have hanging in the closet and I loved the idea of there being only a limited number of them being sold. I immediately knew what carnival of pink I’d drape over this new skin. Continue reading

What Does a LADY Wear Sex-Bed Shopping?

posted by Gidge Uriza

Something Lady-Like – Of course.

I start every log in the same way, I stroll up to the third floor of my house, hop on my dressing stand and get nekkid. It is only then that I start to drop onto my floor, like a complacent teenager, anything that has been dropped into my inventory since my last log in, review items, group gifts, invitations, catalogs, presents, things I bought from Onrez or SLX etc etc etc. I throw them around the room opening them haphazardly and whoa be to me when the stuff isn’t boxed. But that’s another story. Continue reading

Flowery Goodness from Petal Meg and Rosemar

It’s a short post, because I’m waist high in 20 cube boxes and I’m only taking a break while SILO runs off to get some BK. But….seriously, Petal Meg Jewelry + Rosemar Dress = FALL FANTASTIC.

I’m ready, the browns are starting to take over aren’t they?

Bring on fall.

It’ll be time for the Fall Meet at Keeneland soon….fall will begin to sweep across the mountains and well, this girl can’t WAIT to figure out what to wear. In either life!

A PXL Cry Skin for your viewing pleasure – Dark Eyes with Passion Lips. This is a really lovely one, Cajsa and I have both worn the hell out of it (grins). I expect to keep it in really regular rotation. 🙂

The Babydoll Question

Is the baby doll dress a design rite of passage? I ask because it is the most common casual dress form in Second Life – something that mystifies me as baby doll dresses are, in my opinion, the least flattering of all dress shapes. I definitely prefer a waist – one that shows I am neither pregnant nor suffering from Kallman’s Syndrome

If, like me, you want to wear a dress that flatters your figure by revealing rather than hiding it, you will eventually need to learn to edit prims. It’s relatively easy and if you copy the prim before editing, risk-free. When I saw the bright, beautiful print of this Roseo babydoll, I didn’t hesitate about getting it – knowing that 2 minutes  of editing would give me a waisted version that I would love…and it did.

Walk This Way

posted by Gidge Uriza

A relaxed weekend in the mountains (which is where I’ve been) called for something casual and fun. It’s still hot hot hot hot hot here, so even being in the mountains doesn’t provide cool breezes for relief at night. Kunglers PARADISE outfit is so bright and cheery, yet stylishly casual, I couldn’t resist it.

I don’t wear many “tank” tops and as I’ve said I don’t really wear Tshirts so finding casual pieces to wear that I like to wear always makes me happy.  I’ve struggled with SOME prim babydoll top attachments recently – they attach strangely, they move oddly, they’re just over-all wonky. This one seems to be big enough  that I could make a very slight adjustment and it didn’t hang bizarrely into my butt with my AO on (which as you can imaagine, makes a difference). Continue reading

Pt. 3, Taking Lingerie Public

Besides corsets, teddies and camisoles bodysuits and unies can also be worn as a blouse, particularly if they are as luscious as this one from Style Starts Here. Although tantalizingly sheer, there are strategically placed embellishments and a discreet lining that makes this a perfectly presentable though flirtatious top to pair with low-cut jeans or a skirt. I thought it important that the skirt sit on the hip, not the waist because the top’s cut out looks unbalanced with the skirt at the waist. It is important for that cut out shape to reach its maximum size and begin curving back in order for it to look right.

Violetta

Throwing a house party last weekend (before my Red White and Blue madness week!) I was perplexed at which thing in my closet to wear. We were just having some friends over to Wang Manor for some dancing and fun, nothing fancy and no THEME and as I rifled through my dresses I remembed I had picked this up at Diversity the day it came out but hadn’t worn it yet!

I knew immediately I wanted to match up purples and gold – and these pansy earrings from Petal Meg were exactly what I was looking for. Pressed from real flowers, all of her jewelry is an elegant little piece of nature, and so unique.

I'll Take Mine On the Rocks

BEWARE MER-MEN AND SAILORS
THERE ARE SIRENS
ON THE ROCKS OF KOH NANA

As a former island dweller I have an ridiculous collection of beachwear – and madly enough I’m still buying. Well I do have a pool, so at least it gets used.
I had originally run over to Nicky Ree to pick up this lovely piece. But when surfing through her blog, looking at the lovelies to be had at her store and I ran into THIS . Never let it be said that I’m a freebie shopper only, my financial advisor Silo would definitely confirm this.  I instantly fell in love with the set and made a mental note to pick it up some time in the future.
