One of the hallmarks of Paper Couture is bold design. Strangely enough, there’s just a bit of hedging the bet with this gorgeous Roaring Green Ruffles dress as they offer the sheer bodice in sheer black or sheer black with polka dots, but seriously, we have to choose the dots, don’t we? Without the dots, this is a lovely dress, with the dots, it’s a lovely and dashing dress. So let’s go for the Crazy Arms.

It was a fine affair, but now it's over.
The Designers United Vaudeville event has passed into SL Fashion history. It drew in lots of people with the excellent and exciting clothing, hair and other items. The entire concept behind Designers United is actually very clever and a great way to encourage imagination and innovation. I am eager to see what their inspiration is next. However, just because the official Vaudeville event is over, that does not mean that there’s not plenty of places and dresses and options out there in the rest of Second Life. It can be in the eye of the beholder. Take this new dress from Paper Couture. The triangle print fabric reminds me a lot of the harlequin prints – so I decided to shoot it with a harlequin background and do one more vaudevillean shoot before singing Bye Bye Mein Leiber Herr.
You have to understand the way I am, mein herr
A tiger is a tiger, not a lamb, mein herr
You’ll never turn the vinegar to jam, mein herr
So I do what I do
When I’m through, then I’m through.
And I’m through.
Tootle-oo.
Bye bye mein lieber herr
Farewell mein lieber herr
It was a fine affair, but now it’s over
And though I used to care, I need the open air
You’re better off without me mein herr.
This Suit Needs a Better Name
Seriously, what else can you say when Paper Couture comes through with something so luscious, luxurious and lavish as this Black Floral Suit Gown. Shouldn’t it be the Suit to End All Suits? The Queen of Suits? The Suitastic? The Whipped Cream with a Cherry on Top Suit? If you have other name suggestions that encapsulate the utter fabulousness of this suit, please add them in comments.
Willkommen
So last night was the Vaudeville/Burlesque party at The Deck and Sasy took pictures. I wore this adorable La Biche Corset Dress from Dolita, though I added a skirt to it that you can see after the cut. It’s another great find at Designers United Vaudeville.

I turned my husband from a robot into a hooman to show all the girls (and heck guys too) that there is a great option for dressing up your man this New Year’s Eve. The PARTY IN VENEZIA tuxedo from Musashi Do just HAPPENS to have a vest which PERFECTLY coordinates with the BROCADE PRINCESS gown – also from Musashi Do.
This brings you a great cohesive style as a couple without that lame “Oh they wore matching outfits how cute” look. These are not matching outfits – rather they are formal wear made to coordinate and compliment each other. And it’s perfect for New Year’s Eve balls and events!
As a girl dressing a boy AV for only the second time (the first time was when I dressed us Winter) – I was a little bit worried about figuring it out cuz MAN this tux has options. My husband was finishing up some other things so I was left to my own devices for a while running back and forth between two computers trying to figure it all out. And there is where I have to share something AWESOME. Continue reading
Winter Formal
I put some real effort in getting dressed for the SCD-Glitterati Winter Formal last night. With the request to wear white, the chances of duplicating someone else’s look were much higher, so I decided to make something completely new by combining two gowns into one. This is the result and I think it was a triumph. Or it would have been if some IRL friends didn’t drop by about 15 minutes into the party with pizza and a movie. So, I officially spent longer getting dressed than I did at the party.
Stylissimo
I have a complaint about Stylissimo and it’s a biggie. It’s just too darn long between releases. Now, don’t get me wrong. I would rather have fewer, more original and innovative releases than a flood of the same old thing. However, have you seen Stylissimo’s collection? It’s quirky and cute, fun and fashionable and always pleases my sense of whimsy and delight in fashion. So…no more slo-mo Stylissimo, you hear?
I mean, take a look at this dress. At first glance, it seems so simple, a little shift dress embellished with buttons up the side. But look closely at how the buttons arch in toward the bodice and lead to the intricate baroque details and then there are the fabulously fun sleeves. It’s a perfect balance of wit and art.

Icy blue is one of my favorite colors for the holidays. This release from Sysy is an elegant tafetta textured gown that I was in love with the first minute I saw it. Continue reading
Better Late Than Never, I hope.
I pulled together a Halloween Ball gown last night because I just could not let the night pass without dragging my favorite piece from last year – the Tangled spider skirt from Prim and Pixel Paradise. Since I blogged it last year, I wanted to change it up, so I rummaged in my paper couture folders for a top I remembered that I was sure would work. I think it did.
Paeoti For Me, Please! Or – Another Celebration of My Cleavage

I got this gorgeous box of goodies dropped on me – and I first had to share with you this Paeoti – Malady Formal Gown. I swear I had to wear it JUST for an excuse to put on one of my Symphony Skins with the fantastic BUSTY option.
I mean. FOR REAL.
I’m all about my cleavage today – aren’t I? Continue reading
