County Chic In Another Country

Neferia Abel recently released her COUNTRY CHIC collection and after I got done drooling over the soft cotton look with eyelet laces, I was determined to find some place different to shoot it.

My love affair with the third party viewers continues to be one of love and hate.

Today’s it’s love.

The magical land of GreenBurg was the perfect place to soar around via dandelion and enjoy the breathtaking vistas and vignettes. Makes me wish I was a GOOD photographer. Continue reading

Not Your Granny's Hairpin Lace

may26_004

Anessa Stine of DCNY is not your granny and this is not what she might cast off her hairpin lace loom, but she certainly has a granny’s old-fashioned attention to detail. If you want to know what I mean look at the prim flap on this dress. The much maligned and frequently cursed prim flap melds near seamlessly into the pattern of the lace – and continues to do so when you shift positions. Now that’s attention to detail. My one crafty hobby is lace-making and hairpin lace is one of the easiest there is to make. I lost interest in hairpin lace quite early because generally it was used for making scarves and shawls. Now, if I had thought to make something like this, I might have stuck with it longer though I am sure my mother would have vetoed such a racy, lacy dress.

I headed over to the Jersey Shore to shoot because I could imagine the Jerseylicious Olivia in this dress. The Jersey Shore is a fun, bright and cheery shopping sim with amusement rides and a candy store straight out of the last century.

It is what it is

may25_006

Today’s blog post title comes from Mouse Mimistrobell of Dark Mouse fame. It works for this post because rather than attempting to explain the surrealist dreamscape that you find at Daytime Dreams where I shot the pictures, sometimes it just makes more sense to say “It is what it is” and simply enjoy the whimsical beauty without seeking any deeper meaning.

I added several pictures from the sim to Sasy Scarborough’s Second Life Stock Images Pool. Sometimes people prefer shooting in a studio and adding the background later. This is a source for great backgrounds from within SL.

Honolulu Chic

may19_005

Shiryu of Shiki Designs has released a new collection featuring bold tropical colors and prints. This collection takes on the idea that island fashion limited to bikinis, board shorts and baggy prints shirts. These are chic designs that incorporate the insouciant spirit of the Hawaiian print shirt, but with a sexy, chic aesthetic. So, it’s totally perfect that this piece from the collection is called Honolulu Chic.

Mens Monday Mania Rolls Into Town

I would’ve bought a shirt but I ran out of money. So I put on bangles and earrings from MOOD to class it up.

Fear and Clothing and SUR+ are just two of the creators you will find at the Mens Monday Mania event at Shopping Cart Disco Headquarters. Posers, hair designers, clothing creators and makers of things for guys can be found and everything is less than 1ooL.

It’s a sale day just for the men and the girls and their ALTS. Shhh we won’t tell.

I am torn between which I love best, these awesome Fight City jeans from FEAR AND CLOTHING or the wicked NAIROBI hat from SUR+. You probably need them both. Continue reading

All-Weather Alirium

may13a_012

There’s a reason Alirium is one of the most visited sim in Second Life®. It’s beautiful and at the moment, it’s almost an all-weather sim with its F*R*O*S*T exhibition of beautiful sim-etry. Knowing I would bop from summer to winter in a short second, I dressed for all weather wandering in jeans from Studio Sidhe for Culture Shock layered with a summery top from R.icielli and a jacket from Ivalde.

The walk down the dozens of stairs to the snow fields is lovely, especially on such a bright, sunny day.

Quick Look: DDStyle for Couture of Hope

I had an adventurous day, making my first trip to the grocery store in over six months. Even though my friend did all the work and I just drove one of those electric go-carts, it still wore me out so this is a quick, short post with not much more than pictures.

Bahia

Hello, folks!
Summer is almost here and, obviously, lots of swimsuit collections are being released lately.
I’m going to show you the awesome swimsuit that emily kaestner from [croire] made for the Culture Shock event:

Glamour on the beach

The snakeskin texture and the funky knots add a touch of glamour that makes this swimsuit absolutely different and I also like the back of the lower part, kind of shorts/panties style. I’d like something like that in RL too!

Relaxing walk
