This jumpsuit makes my butt look sooooo cute!

Hiya!

Skin, jumpsuit and hair i’m wearing in the following pictures are some of my fav items ever and I must admit I have been wearing them quite a lot lately. I just love each of them and I think they go really great with each other.
You already know the Miamai jumpsuit ‘cause Cajsa blogged it and, yeah, it’s another beautiful gem created by the super talented monica Outlander:

Linda

What is she thinking?

Simply amazing.

And yes, it makes your butt look uber cute! Wanna see????

Black Friday

nov24_013

I come from a town with only one store and I can list everything it sold. Eggs, bread, butter, burgers and fries, hot dogs and onion rings, 3.2 beer and soda, minnows and earthworms and that’s about it, other than renting canoes, boats and cabins. Needless to say, it didn’t have a Black Friday sale. The next town down the road had a gas station and a grocery store though only with the most basic fresh foods. For something so esoteric as, let’s say, broccoli, you would have to drive 50 miles or more. With that background, Black Friday never caught on. I guess that leaves me looking askance at those who wait in line for hours to shop. There’s nothing I want that much.

LOTD ~ 11 22 11

What a cool date…. 11 ~~ 22 ~~ 11
Thought I’d mention that since I just noticed it when I typed it up there ^^^!
Anywho…. back to my Look of the Day….
First, for my casual look today, I’ve donned a cute sweater and pair of capri jeans from Somnia.

LOTD 11 22 11-1

This warm sweater is from the Striped Queen collection and the pants are from the Tweed Waders Muted collection. Both are new to the store and perfect for a cool fall day.

This jewelry set is one I happened to pick up at the Vintage Fair and is a very versatile piece from Amorous called Refrain.  The jewels are color changing and so is the metal.

Raiding My Closet for Cold Weather

If there is one thing I’ve learned watching Cajsa style over the past few years, is that what seems to “go” with what you’ve just put on is often furthest from what you are going for.

The temperature in my RL has dropped significantly, and the new scarf from Baiastice was where I started my outfit- along with these boots from TenFifteen. Now, I was naked wearing a scarf and boots. Continue reading

Is you is or is you ain't

nov14_003

I am wearing this gorgeous dress from ICING for the Vintage Fair. I don't know why, but it made me think of that great old song from Louis Jordan. So there's no secret message in this post.

Oh, I got a man that’s always late
Any time we have a date
But I love him
Yes I love him

SL WEEKLY WORDS CHALLENGE: ABANDON

Back by popular demand! The word for this coming week is ABANDON.

Abandon:  to leave completely, forsake utterly, desert, to give up, discontinue, withdraw from.

The pic is a bit hestitant Ophelia, isn’t it?

The SL Weekly Words Challenge is a weekly blogger challenge where I pose a word and you take that word and depict it with an image. There is no right or wrong way to do this challenge. Pictures can have avatars or not, it’s about what that word means to you.
There is a small but festive FLICKR Group to post your pics too as well.

So feel free to participate. And there is no deadline, no rules, just something to inspire you besides “what shoes go with this?” which is why I created the challenge in the first place. Thanks to you who left me comments asking me to keep going. I needed a kick!

Next weeks words  for those who need time for ideas to brew- CRISP AND CLEAN.

1968

Nov14_019

“Fashion is self-consciously sociological and frankly featherbrained. It’s classic and immediate. Nostalgic and now. Worldly and other-worldly. Whatever’s happening you are part of it and at last you can be yourself and look as you choose.” English Vogue, 1968

1968 was the year fashion run amok. Hemlines on the runway ranged from the mini to just above the knee to the midi and the maxi. Women wore midi-coats with mini-skirts and minidresses over bell-bottoms. Velvet jumped off the formal rack and raced over to casuals and was seen everywhere. Thrift store chic meant looking like you dressed in a thrift store, not actually dressing in a thrift store. Fashion became not just a way of looking good, but a signifier of political and generational divides. Tonight you can visit the wild and crazy 1968 at The Velvet from 7 to 9 SLT – as Rock per Annum moves forward one more year.

Nov14_011

1967 was the Summer of Love and 1968 was the year of sorrow. Martin Luther King was assassinated. So was Bobby Kennedy. The My Lai Massacre revealed that the American soldiers were not always the “good guys” of the romanticized war movies. The Tet Offensive challenged the military superiority of the American army. Richard Nixon is elected president after derailing the Paris peace talks by contacting the North Vietnamese and promising a better peace treaty with him. But it was not a completely horrible year. Tommie Smith and John Carlos raised their fists in a black power salute when getting their medals at the Olympics in Mexico. The Civil Rights Act was signed. Yale University opened admission to women. Intel was founded and President Johnson ordered that all computers purchased by the government support ASCII encoding, paving the way for generations of ASCII artists. Elvis made a comeback and the Beatles released The White Album and Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In debuted.
