La Mer

Seaside elegance brought to you today courtesy of Baiastice.  Finding unusual and interesting places to shoot is my new diversion. I landed here courtesy of Hybie’s blog I think.

I could be wrong. I’m kind of in a daze between Honour’s blog and Hybie’s blog and the destination guide.

Shooting on location fills my time and between finding locations and fighting with viewers, that’s a LOT.

I am wearing one of my favorite pieces of jewelry, it’s from MIAO and it’s the Gidge Sweetheart necklace. It’s named after this girl I know….

A close up of PXL Gaia. I’m loving this skin with the freckles option, so hard.

We Are Legion

One of the scariest concepts to me, regarding demons is the whole phrase “WE ARE LEGION”.

I mean, that’s a lot right? I’m not sure if it’s in the EXORCIST but I know it’s in the Bible, the whole WE ARE LEGION thing.

I mean, it always seems like ONE demon is capable of so much havoc. Does their NEED to be a legion? That just seems like overkill of the Hollywood sort, to me. Continue reading

County Chic In Another Country

Neferia Abel recently released her COUNTRY CHIC collection and after I got done drooling over the soft cotton look with eyelet laces, I was determined to find some place different to shoot it.

My love affair with the third party viewers continues to be one of love and hate.

Today’s it’s love.

The magical land of GreenBurg was the perfect place to soar around via dandelion and enjoy the breathtaking vistas and vignettes. Makes me wish I was a GOOD photographer. Continue reading

Not Your Granny's Hairpin Lace

may26_004

Anessa Stine of DCNY is not your granny and this is not what she might cast off her hairpin lace loom, but she certainly has a granny’s old-fashioned attention to detail. If you want to know what I mean look at the prim flap on this dress. The much maligned and frequently cursed prim flap melds near seamlessly into the pattern of the lace – and continues to do so when you shift positions. Now that’s attention to detail. My one crafty hobby is lace-making and hairpin lace is one of the easiest there is to make. I lost interest in hairpin lace quite early because generally it was used for making scarves and shawls. Now, if I had thought to make something like this, I might have stuck with it longer though I am sure my mother would have vetoed such a racy, lacy dress.

I headed over to the Jersey Shore to shoot because I could imagine the Jerseylicious Olivia in this dress. The Jersey Shore is a fun, bright and cheery shopping sim with amusement rides and a candy store straight out of the last century.

Dream Logic

may24_004

My post title comes to you courtesy of Kerryth Tarantal. It’s a good choice because this dress from Sysy’s looks like a dream incarnate. While my family lived in the Northwoods of northern Minnesota, my sister lived in the Red River Valley where it’s so flat you can see the shore of Lake Agassiz from miles away as though it were some huge land formation. There’s even a viewpoint for drivers to pull over and marvel at this 8 foot “cliff” marking the shore. Lake Agassiz would be the largest lake in the world if it still existed – and that flat plain that is its former lakebed created a vast, flat plain of rich farmland. The thing is when an 8 foot lake edge is the most significant land mass for hundreds of miles, people tend to focus on the sky. And the vistas in the sky are amazing – the Northern Lights are definitely the Queen of the Sky Pageant, but Sky Blue Pink is First Runner Up. Sysy somehow managed to create a dress of Sky Blue Pink – that illusive color that we all know but struggle to define. I got the dress at Shoe Fair.

This set was shot at ImagiLearning Lowlands – one of the many gorgeous Imagilearning sims. The sky is a glorious Sky Blue Pink thanks to a windlight setting Gidge made and gave to me. You will have to hit her up for the NC of the setting.

AN IOF PSA:Making TPV Your Windlight Bitch

My normal calm demeanor has been shattered recently with some issues I’ve experienced with my graphics. My best friends have had to endure hours of me raging “WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH MY FUCKING GRAPHICS CARD?” and other assorted profanities like that.
You might say, “Goodness, Gidge. Such LANGUAGE! Buy a new machine.”
“Ah, but you see,” I would explain. “I just did. I just shelled out a fortune on a new machine with lots of fancies, to the point that the sales guy at compuCenter about wanked off as I picked out my add ons. So, it’s not the machine.”

If you are not on my plurkline, you have probably missed a few weeks of me also plurking “WHAT THE FUCK AM I DOING WRONG WAAAAAAH” and assorted lovely things like that. So you might not know what exactly was challenging me.

It was this – the moment I ticked the “Basic Shaders” button in graphics settings – in ANY TPV (I use Kirstens and Phoenix) – my avatar would do THIS.

If you can’t quite see why this is a problem take a closer look.

It looks like antialiasing isn’t on.

But it was – at 16X. Continue reading

Mens Monday Mania Rolls Into Town

I would’ve bought a shirt but I ran out of money. So I put on bangles and earrings from MOOD to class it up.

Fear and Clothing and SUR+ are just two of the creators you will find at the Mens Monday Mania event at Shopping Cart Disco Headquarters. Posers, hair designers, clothing creators and makers of things for guys can be found and everything is less than 1ooL.

It’s a sale day just for the men and the girls and their ALTS. Shhh we won’t tell.

I am torn between which I love best, these awesome Fight City jeans from FEAR AND CLOTHING or the wicked NAIROBI hat from SUR+. You probably need them both. Continue reading

If you go out in the woods today

may13_003

I adore the Teddy Bear’s Picnic, but sadly I did not catch any in the woods at Villefranche, but I have to say the short path through the trees is a stunning little walk. I am wearing a cute strapless dress from Indie Rose with perhaps the best fitted belt ever made. Well, for me at least. The dress is one of the three Indie Rose made for Culture Shock, so be sure to go check it out and support Médecins Sans Frontières while you’re at it.

You Had Me At:It Comes With A Kitten

Graffitiwear has released this full outfit which include a kitten in a bag.

I mean really, like I could say NO to wearing this EVER? I might wear it all weekend I really might. It cracks me up. Yes, they have catered to my crazy inner cat woman, I can’t help it. Continue reading

…and I Wonder If I Ever Cross Your Mind?

I spent my Monday sitting around hatching kittens. I had a few but this is the only one that I kept. I’m slowly turning into the crazy cat lady of SL because once I name them then I am hesitant to send them off to the Menagerie. (This is kitty cat heaven although someone on my plurk line says that Callie Cline has a big KITTY OVEN and that this is where they go.)

This is the only kitten that made the cut, named Diamante after the hilarious fake diamonds from 80s infomercials. My grandma once told me all about these new diamonds that were so cheap. OH YES Grandma. Diamante for EVERYONE (PS they were glass.) Continue reading
