It’s true, all that glitters is not gold. Sometimes it is bronze, silver or platinum. And sometimes it is a bit of all at once as in this gorgeous top from Fashionably Dead. The peplum top is available at Collabor88 where the theme this month seems to be proving that glitter comes in every color. I dressed it up with the bottom of the Kamille dress from Countdown. One of the advantages of combining mesh with system layers, as Countdown has, is the ability to mix and match which makes me happy.

At The Office
It was a busy day at the office yesterday. My To Do list was a mile long and I don’t think it got any shorter by the end of my day. Fortunately, Cajsa has put up a lovely new office at Glookbone so at least if I have to sort through the work part of my SL I have a pretty place to do it. Continue reading
Days End
I decided to continue getting things done today so after a quick stretch I decided to go for a run to learn my new neighborhood. Surely someone would be out and about, right? I mean – they aren’t all INVISIBLE. Are they… Continue reading
Lunch Stop
After a quick pop home to check in on Sophie I changed and headed out to grab some lunch. I found a diner that was neither quiet nor recherche but fun so hopped on a stool for some noms. The service was terrible. And the food made me farty. Continue reading
Reflections, Not Resolutions

Chic is the word for this Drift jacket. You can see its lineage in the glorious history of Chanel with its short-cropped waist, it’s beautifully tailored fit and the rich wool fabric. The skirt, from CIA Designs, is beautifully made. With its relatively high waist, it will work well with all sorts of tops and jackets. For the With Love Hunt, it is only 10L and comes in red, brown and blue. It is one of the can’t miss hunt items. Make yourself comfortable and you should find it.
New Year’s Eve has never been a big holiday in my family. Most of the day was spent cleaning and preparing for New Year’s Day which was much more important. We always had a sparkling clean house and a feast on New Year’s, honoring a folk tradition that what you experience on New Year’s Day is the harbinger of the coming year. Well, one thing you would not want on New Year’s Day is a hangover! We didn’t make resolutions either. This was probably more the influence of my mother more than any tradition. She always said that if you plan to do something, just do it. If it’s important enough to do, it’s too important to delay until the new year. What we did do, though, is look back at the year and appreciate our good fortune.
Those traditions continue. I have been cleaning today. I am having a New Year’s dinner party tomorrow. And I have been looking back at 2012 and appreciating my good fortune.
It’s Not TOO Late To Get That Party Dress!
So waddya like in a party dress? Something kicky and festive? Or something formal and elegant like the black HOCO dresses 2022? Well, luckily, the grid isn’t running short of either this last holiday bash of the year. Continue reading
If It’s Sunday, It Must Be Jazz
I play a classic jazz set every Sunday morning from 9 to 11 AM SLT at The Velvet. Usually I focus on the oldies from Stan Getz, Dexter Gordon, Zoot Sims, John Coltrane and many others. I have a strong preference for the old jazz greats but the old jazz forms are still powerful influences on today’s jazz. With the year end upon us, I am doing a special set looking back at the fine jazz of 2012. I hope you can swing by.
Sissy Pessoa of Baiastice has created a fabulous dress perfect for any jazz chanteuse. I wish I could sing well enough to be a chanteuse of anything. However, I am perfectly dressed to sing. The heavy silk charmeuse drapes as beautifully as a caress.
My Supervisor
As you can see, my blog pictures and posts are all done under close supervision by Oscar. Because I reached for the camera and shifted back to take the picture, he is positioned a little farther from the laptop than he likes to sit while I work. While I am working, his preferred position is on the very edge of the laptop with his front paws on my forearm and his forehead leaning against my chin, completely blocking my view of the keyboard. Apparently he liked this shot because he walked across the keyboard and saved this shot to disk.
This is the picture Oscar took. The dress is from LIV-Glam and is a fabulous party gown that comes with a HUD allowing me to change it from silver to gold. It’s a perfect dress for us indecisive folks.

The Rose Theater
A trip to Second Life’s® Rose Theater requires a gown worthy of the venue and this recent release from VoguE Fashion is in all ways worthy. It has the regal red, black and gold colors, rich and strong colors that for centuries have signified formal elegance. The gown has a rich brocade band marking the chevroned drop waist and a bodice of red glass beans embellished with gold threads. Even the lush shoulder fur is dusted with gold. My jewelry from Donna Flora for My Second Box is just a regal and rich and the topaz gems are huge.
Back in the Saddle Again
This has been a long week while my computer was away getting its logic board replaced. They replaced the battery plugin and the bottom keyboard and cursor touchpad as well because they decided they were not up to snuff. I am thrilled to have it back after 5 days of using a 9 year old computer to browse the web. My old desktop is fine for playing iTunes and checking mail, but coughed and spluttered and ground to a halt when trying to look at flickr. In this outfit, I am wearing a new jacket from Baiastice with a Baistice skirt from last month and a black shirt from Kyoto Couture. I love the look of the Western style tie and the black on black with the jacket.
