Sometimes the best outfits happen by accident. I was trying on some clothes the other night, getting ready to go dancing and had just put on a beautiful goth lolita dress from Blue Blood, but I really wanted something more clubby – so I right clicked on the folder for this black and white mini from bdreams. When it rezzed, I still had the corset and stockings from the Blue Blood outfit remaining and I thought it looked hotter than hot. I added some gloves and red tights under the Blue Blood stocking and sure enough, when I dropped by the Skin Fair, someone said “Rawr!” hence the title.

Maple specializes in taking their RL clothing and translating it into Second Life – as they look this hand-painted button-front dress. In the store, the RL dress is displayed next to the SL dress and the work is amazing in both lives.
Casual Friday (or Thursday, Friday and Saturday)
Last week I was a bit busy and happened to be wearing an outfit I really liked and before you knew it, I wore it three days in row. Now, I happened to change into something else during that time, but then I put this same outfit back on…that’s how comfy it is.
Summer Nights
When you want to dress up for those hot summer night, sometimes the freshness of icy colors like silver and ice blue can make you feel just a tiny bit cooler. Sure, it’s all in your head, but so is everything else in life. This Pixel Dolls Limelight corset in silver looks almost like I am wearing ice and that could give you just a little shiver of cool feeling. The ice blue skirt is from LeeZu and is icier than you think. The Skyline necklace and earrings have an icy look, too. These are from a store I discovered on a hunt – ci:di
Dressing2Shop
I think when you’re shopping you should dress well enough that you don’t feel all pathetic and underdressed and end up buying out the store. However, I do think shopping in a ball gown is lagtastic. I like to dress the way I would in RL, comfortably in chic casual clothing with some layering in case the air condition is on. This little mashup of items form Anuenue, Kookie and Canimal is just right. The shoes, by the way, are from Kalnins and it’s worth it to make a size 11 foot copy of your shape and toss in the folder with the shoes for easy dressing.
Ready to Dance
Oh, this gorgeously pop outfit from Moxie Polano is the pants and top for dancing. I would be ready to head out to First Avenue if I still lived in the Cities. Almost no one who lives there calls them the Twin Cities, we just would say The Cities as if there were no other ones on the planet. First Avenue was a favorite dance club when I was in college – and is well-known to many of you as that is the setting of Purple Rain. It was a short walk from my weekend job at the Planetarium when I was in college and so was a regular Saturday night stop. When I put this outfit on, I immediately thought of the club and wondered if it still existed and what it looked like. So reassuring to see that it has lasted.
Musically Inclined
I cannot claim to be musically inclined although I come from a musical family. My father played banjo and sang in a Swedish folk band and on my mother’s side there are generations of professional musicians from opera singers to Grand Ole Opry stars. And I cannot carry a tune. It’s so unfair. Still, I love music and enjoy it in all its manifestations. Moxie Polano’s Piano dress is certainly a celebration of music – an extravagant celebration from the curving piano keys to the tiny little notes embellishing the shoulder.
Just Red
This outfit mixes a corset from Deadly Nightshade with a system skirt from Little Rebel. I love the system skirt – especially since I made myself a skirt shape to reduce the big booty bounty so common in the regular shape with a system skirt. Little Rebel is the epicenter of system skirt magnificence and smart fashionistas will make an occasional foray there to ensure they have a a few of the highwaisted system skirts to mix and match with short tops and corsets.
Christmas Shopping
Running around the grid today looking for some Christmas gifts, I wanted to be sure both comfortably and seasonally dressed. I confess it was a bit nippy and some boots and a jacket would have been wiser, but then it gets so hot inside the store.
Red Christmas
Looking for a perfect holiday gown – this Anastasia by Vogue might be right for you. I found it at the Vanity Universe Winter Fairy Tale event that’s raising funds for Care International – which was my mother’s favorite charity, making it easy for me to splurge a bit. The brocade bodice reminds me of christmas wrapping paper. Certainly, if you wear this, you will be one of the best-wrapped avatars at the ball.
