Sn@tch It Up!

posted by Gidge Uriza

When the big stores have their wonderful, huge markdown sales, I always like to take advantage of stocking up on basics. Sn@tch is one of my favorite stores for picking up different things that make great additions to any outfit. I can’t believe, however, that I had never noticed this sweater, scarf comb that I picked up during their L$50 sale. Nutty! Continue reading

Look What You Are Missing……An It's Only Fashion PSA

posted by Gidge Uriza

So due to flickr being my nemesis, I failed in my mission to get this dress posted before it was retired. Therefore – I’m sort of taunting you here today. But I wanted to share some important, fun info that might be important to you if you are a ball gown lovin’ fashionista on a budget.

Lemania Indigo is daily/weekly and MONTHLY now bringing free/dollarbie gowns which she is retiring plus some other themed goodies to her Group Members.  Lemania is known for her big, nutty/fairytale ball gowns that run the gamut from fantasy to ultra-modern – so there is something for everyone’s taste. Date Night FUNKY!

posted by Gidge Uriza

This was originally a completely different outfit. I had these pants which were BRILLIANT! One leg pink, one leg turquoise and these sneakers that were each the opposite color and it was BAM cool.

However, something went wonky every time I wore the pants for about two minutes, THEY LOST THEIR TEXTURE.

I have no idea, I need to file a JIRA unless someone knows WHY that happens and how to fix it. And yes I rebaked and that did NOT help nuttin. Continue reading

Antique-ing On a Saturday

posted by Gidge Uriza

This Saturday is spent schlepping around vintage/antique stores searching for six chairs for my RL dining room. My dining table is from the Sears and Roebuck catalog circa 1912, from the lodge of a large fishing camp that my family owned in Minnesota BACK IN THE DAY.  When the last of the cabins had been sold or demolished, in the 70s, my entire family converged upon the LODGE where the meals had been served and the furniture within was plundered and scattered amongst us.

EVERY SINGLE MEMBER of my family HAS one of these tables. It’s sort of bizarre, yet endearing. Continue reading

Date Night Pretty

When I was still little enough to play with Barbie’s, THE Barbie to have the year I was about 10 was SUPERSTAR BARBIE. Swathed in pink with ridiculously girly gown, flowing blonde hair and diamonds, SUPERSTAR BARBIE was THE ONE. Malibu Barbie was good. But she couldn’t hold a candle to the joy of unwrapping that 11inch doll box and seeing that pinky goodness swaddled in carboard.

YEAH I GOT ONE! WHAT’D YOU THINK THIS WAS SOME STORY ABOUT ME PINING FOR THE BARBIE I NEVER GOT? PFAH! AS IF!

Casual Friday:Mix and Match

posted by Gidge Uriza

Today is a great example of how you should always look at your group gifts/freebie gifts even if you think they are not completely your cup of tea. I received Jaycie from Dollyrock as a group gift, and it’s a little dress, halter top, glitch pants, shortie cutie skirt.

I don’t wear a lot of this style, and my initial reaction was “Meh I don’t wear a lot of these, I’ll bag this.” And with an inventory aproaching 40k – I think this is something I need to do even more.  But I really LIKED the texture and thought the little halter was a cute summer top – so I kept it hoping inspiration would strike.

It did. Continue reading

Princess Odette:Freed by the Ivalde Challenge

posted by Gidge Uriza

The beautiful Princess Odette, immortalized by the ballet SWAN LAKE, has been freed from her cursed life as a swan by the beautiful Sevina Gown by Ivalde.

Surrounded by Ethereal Ghosts of the Swans who served as her family and captors…….Odette spins and dances her joy upon being set free.

At least, that was my first thought upon seeing this new release from Ivalde and getting an invitation to request a review item from Beulah!  Continue reading

Lemania's Ribbons

posted by Gidge Uriza

Our window for wearing heavy, overly ornate cocktail dresses and gowns is closing – at least as far as the RL season goes. Soon we’ll be shedding tafettas,  heavy silks and velvets for cotton damasks and chiffon.

But not quite yet. 🙂 Continue reading

Bathing Beauty

posted by Gidge Uriza

There are a handful of creators who put out new releases at a discounted price upon release, for a limited time, or do one color in a discounted price for a limited time. Second Wave Apparel is one of those, and I excitedly open her notices to see if the new goodies are something I want.

When I noticed the halter top came with panties to make it a retro-style swimsuit, I was sold. Continue reading

Fashionable Relay Challenge

posted by Gidge Uriza

The Pink Plainers by Shiny Things that Tesa used were the building blocks of my fashionable relay challenge entry. I cannot resist the opportunity to hose myself down in girly pepto-bismol pink.

I thought it only fitting that a trip to PINK OUTFITTERS ended in a super girly pink look, to top off these excellent shoes. Continue reading
