The Relay for Life Clothing Fair opens up tomorrow but a bunch of us bloggers snuck in today to see what sort of goodness there is to be found.
A Barbie Girl is pleased to report that Shiryu Musashi has offered up special edition colors of a few of my favorite pieces. And he’s run the gauntlet of the seasons, from the uber sexy bikinis Summer Sky and Wave Flow pictured above, to the totally hot man’s shirt that I’ve stolen again – the polo re-released in pink……
Squinternet Larnia, the avant-coureur innovator behind the brand Donna Flora, has a genius for baroque jewelry with extravagantly bold clusters of gems, crystals and pearls. Her new creation, Emmanuelle, for the Accessory Fair is no exception. I struggled so hard to decide what to wear with it because there were so many options – should I wear lavender, purple, black, cream, gold, red or some combination thereof? With this bold combination of gems, I could go any direction I wanted. Vintage or modern? Avant-garde or classical? There’s real brilliance involved in creating jewelry that you can take with you on many very different journeys in style. As the Accessory Fair opens on this beautiful Saturday morning, I am thrilled to be featuring the Hera Earrings and Cocktail Ring from Abraxxa Anatine of EarthStones. I remember some several months back that she told me she was going to do something really crazy, that she always wanted to do. Abraxxa is one of those who doesn’t give hints, though, so it was not until she finished the ring that she shared the story of seeing this amazing ring that she fell in love with and lusted for. Like most of us, though, the $26,000 price tag made her jaw drop and made that dream unattainable – until she decided to make it for herself in Second Life®. Luckily for all of us, she has also made matching earrings and not only are these gorgeous, extraordinarily detailed masterpieces available they are not $26,000 or even 26,000 lindens. As you can see, the pieces consist of five constellations of diamonds around a central clusters of gems and inner suns of citrines and topaz – a veritable cluster of solar systems – an entire universe to adorn yourself.

To be honest, this lovely polka dot dress is clearly a modern interpretation of the familiar vintage full skirt and not authentically vintage. Available at the Nouveau Miranda store, it’s made by Wicked Loudon – the new identity of one of the former FOAM creators who is now an adult and back in Second Life®.
One look at the umbrella curving shape of the gores that make up the full skirt makes the dresses modernity evident. However, the fitted waist, the fullness of the skirt, the draped collar and the polka-dot fabric all pay homage to the fashions of half a century ago.

Our second computer is fritzed, so I couldn’t bring Silo along as my date for the Second Style Sim opening theme party which was replete with gorgeous couples in costumes of famous lovers.

One of the silliest reality shows on cable is ‘Say Yes to the Dress” about the ups and downs of selling wedding dresses as a high end New York retailer known as Kleinfeld’s. It’s inane, but I had to watch it once just because I loved the name of the show. I love to say Yes to the dress – and it’s so easy when the dress is as lovely as this Wilder gown from MiaMai.
Sascha Frangelli is known grid-wide for her gowns that are always extravagantly embellished, rich in detail and in options. You can wear anything from a mini cocktail to a door-bursting battleship gown. For me, I chose the narrow, sleek skirt.

I could never wear anything more gleefully than a big pink ballgown. Wait -it’s got a HAT? It’s got a PARASOL?!?!?!?
Sign me up. It’s so springy-fun and foofoo that I just couldn’t resist choosing the pink to show you out of the rainbow of colors that Sascha Frangilli offers it in. It’s rather modest in the black and differently exuberant in the other colors but in the pink, it says OHAI I’m a Barbie Doll and I’m ok with that. Continue reading
For a store with a name like Skin Flicks, the clothing is amazingly classic and stylish. That’s certainly true of the new Hallie sweaters and sweater dress. I am showing off the lovely sweater dress is seafoam green. It’s a delight.
