I wanted an excuse to put on something fancy but I didn’t actually have anywhere to go so I decided to take fancy pictures instead. I’ve had this mesh beauty from Mohna Lisa Couture for a long time and I’ve worn it maybe once, I think to a party, and I just think it’s stunning. My favorite part is how it looks like it really shimmers. It must be something in the way it’s textured cause it seriously looks like it moves and shimmers in the light. It’s very cool.

My downstairs neighbor is up to something! I don’t know what but it involves implements of sonic torture — hammers, electric drills and power saws. I tried to distract myself with television and music, but if noise is what’s bothering you, more noise will not cancel it out. It just creates a cacophonous clash where the beauty of the music and the thread of the story are lost. I held my cat for awhile, his upper body resting on my shoulder sheltering one ear with the comfort of his purring, but the electric drill sent him scurrying to hide in the closet. I finally decided to log into Second Life® and shoot some pictures. I had picked up this gorgeous leather dress from MichaMi at The Dressing Room and needed to get it in the can. Because I wanted to shoot it with a coat, I wanted to find a fall sim and checked out Izzie’s – and that is where the magic happened.

The minute I saw the vendor ad for her newest release on Milla Michanga’s timeline, I knew I had to have it. I hurried to the store and picked it up in a couple colors because it is such a flattering style and one that looks like it might layer well with jackets. It has a beautiful bodice and softly ruffled skirt in a nice light cotton knit with a snug torso in a waffle knit of the same color. The contrasting fabrics give it a slightly sporty look, but that does not mean you can’t dress it up with accessories if that’s your whim.

Baby Bumps for Gidge

I knew how much Gidge loved this dress and I remember her saying something about how much she wished I would get knocked up so that she could throw me a wonderful baby shower. I’m always one to make other people’s dreams come true so I went and got knocked up yesterday and just like the fairies on True Blood..gestation is short.  I figured I would capture this beautiful moment and frame some preggo pictures for her to cherish for all time. I feel disoriented after being gone for a summer. I poked through my wardrobe and found boxes, unopened, and stared at them. They aren’t news any more, and maybe the designers who made the outfits are long departed. I opened one up and took a chance, a henna tattoo from Huz. Time warp, making me remember that my Second Life is really somewhere that I lived, and that being absent from it means that I’ve stopped living that life for a while. The people you miss, you carry into your first life, but still… Who is still here and who is not? Nobody waits, and this is proper…but it’s sad. Anyway. Time to bust out the Autumn colors and explore this world again!

Reverie

I was DJing my usual Sunday morning jazz set at The Velvet when Reverie Boucher, a friend of mine, dropped by wearing an outfit that I just loved. I liked it so much I asked her to let me blog her outfit. What’s funny is that Hybie also blogged the outfit on Monday – though in different colors and styled differently. Goes to show that you can wear the same thing and look very different depending on colors and accessories. The sweater and blouse from Tres Blah are a fabulous piece. In Second Life® as well as in our first life, pieces like these are investment pieces as they can be worn with so many things, casual or dresswear, with pants or skirts.
