The Dinna dress from DG Innovations has amazing embroidery detail. It comes in several colors, but I chose the olive because it made me think of peacocks.

This dress will be getting a lot of play around the feeds by all the Barbie Princesses like me (oh heck INCLUDING ME) so I felt it was important to point out that beautifully made fashion is rarely for one set of fashionistas.
It’s all about how you wear it, now isn’t it? Continue reading

It’s been ages since I have been by DG Innovations. I have a reason. Every time I go there’s too much to tempt me and I spend more than I plan. Still, by waiting this long, I was overwhelmed by all the new dresses. This dress, called Moon River, is not one of the most recent releases, but it was new to me and in the lovely blue and silver color combination that I love for winter. It comes with a couple options for wearing it. This is the side slit, sleek sheath.

There is also this full-skirt with a net overskirt and lovely embellished panels of embroidery going down the back.
A week ago, DJ Maht Wuyts began his 26.2 hours odyssey to raise money for The Uganda Umbrella Project at Heifer International. Spinning the longest set in SL history (or so we believe) he hoped to raise 100,000 Lindens in tips to contribute to the project. However, the response was phenomenal and he raised much, much more. A total of 136,000 lindens which he sold immediately. You can see the sale ticket here:
So it took a week to wend its way into becoming actual money. As you can see, Maht rounded it up and added $100.00 of his own.
I am posting this so you all can see that indeed, your contributions have made their way to their intended destination promptly and completely. Now, Maht continued to DJ at the Velvet every Sunday from 3-5 pm SLT, so be sure to drop in and enjoy interesting and different playlists from an amazing musical mind.

I was wandering around the far swath of land which Silo and I live on – the one farthest from the house and most prone to squatters and another annoying types when I decided this cute casual outfit from e! (ecclectic accessories) made a pretty picture against the landscape.
Luckily, I didn’t break any nails or muss my hair cleaning up prim trash or ejecting vagabonds.

Shiryu Musashi of Musashi-Do is one of those people my mother would have called a stickler – someone whose attention to detail and passion for perfection produces consistently high quality work. This Brocade Princess gown is an example of that pixel perfection at work. Like all of Shiryu’s creations, this is made with lovingly hand textures that meld into skillfully aligned seams and create a graceful and elegant classic addition to your wardrobe.

I have a complaint about Stylissimo and it’s a biggie. It’s just too darn long between releases. Now, don’t get me wrong. I would rather have fewer, more original and innovative releases than a flood of the same old thing. However, have you seen Stylissimo’s collection? It’s quirky and cute, fun and fashionable and always pleases my sense of whimsy and delight in fashion. So…no more slo-mo Stylissimo, you hear?
I mean, take a look at this dress. At first glance, it seems so simple, a little shift dress embellished with buttons up the side. But look closely at how the buttons arch in toward the bodice and lead to the intricate baroque details and then there are the fabulously fun sleeves. It’s a perfect balance of wit and art.

We have an arctic front that has those high, whistling winds that just sound cold even when you are indoors. Sure enough, I started reaching for the warm and cozy clothing so that I could be comfy cozy vicariously as well. The bulky, knit Jackie sweater that is sure to be huggably warm is from MiaMai. The aubergine cigarette pants are from Ingenue. And of course, cold weather is when you want to stay inside. You will surely enjoy this special live concert recording of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong singing that delightfully sexy song – and extemporizing to make it even more fun than usual.
