I wish I knew the meaning of the word carrouel – the name of these wonderful sculpted pants from Ce Cubic Effect – so I would know whether my blog title made any sense whatsoever. They are lovely and functional sculpted pants that keep their form while you walk and while you dance. They also come with a dramatic flowing belt scarf. The drama and flair of the pants called out for something equally dramatic to balance them and so I opted for wearing Bianca Foulon’s marvelous Black Collar. Shai Delacroix’s well textured and understated cashmere sweater make a great foil for the more dramatic elements in the outfit. Continue reading →

Shopping in the City

Have you been to The World yet? It’s a lovely sim, with all the appearance of and old medieval city throughout. The only anachronistic features are modern steam pipes and, of course, teleport technology.  Not being an RPG player, I wore this delightful sundress from Casa del Shai. When I saw how perfectly it matched the pots in the market, I could not resist taking a snap. With it I am wearing the too charming to be believed mules from Aphrodite Outlander of AC Creations. These shoes are adorable and delightful. Completely the outfit, the cherry wood Boho Gypsy from EarthTones. There are more photos on Flickr – and a closeup and style notes after the jump.

Kiss the Sky

One of my favorite Second Life artists is elros tuominen – a prolific sculptor and poet whose work is visually stunning and always new. I recently went to the NMC Arts Lab  to see the wonderful work on display in their Kiss the Sky exhibit and sure enough, elros had a few pieces, including this immersive work. It’s much more beautiful in-world than in this photo because no static photo can capture the wonder of a kinetic sculpture. 

Likewise, no photo can capture the kinetic movement of the gorgeous skirt on this lovely dress from Casa del Shai. Let me just say this right up front. “My name is Cajsa and I am a Casa del Shai addict.” Shai Delacroix’s textures have amazing shading and detail. They make you want to reach out and stroke them. 

I kept my accessorizing minimal with this dress, adding only a pair of wood earrings from Ume Mode and Baba Yaga shoes from Enkythings. Dakota Pantsuit From Casa de Shai

I didn’t buy these pants when I first saw them, wondering how that high waist would work. Sure, it can flatter the back end, but what about when you sit?  As a photographer, I look at clothes with frames in my mind, seeing the photo problems the clothes could cause. I need not have worried. This clothes are camera-friendly. The success of this suit is really in the details. See how smoothly the bell sleeves hang and yet do not fall through my arm.
