Paper Couture Is Srss Fashn:Special Guest Gabe Bookmite

posted by Gidge Uriza

It was kismet, fate, meant-to-be and fortune all rolled up into a nice little ball of coincidence.

I had noted a plurk announcing that Paper Couture had released their fall collection for sale just moments before I logged in that day, so thought “What the hell” and ported over. The place was crampacked with A-listers, some of whom were naked for some unknown reason (my TPV seems to leave people naked a long time for me, so OHAI I’ve seen a lot of you naked lately). I waded through the sea of matte grey individuals for a spot in the room and then began the slow process of camming about. Continue reading

In the Subway Station

sep12_006.jpg

The thing about subways is that they are the ultimate crossroads of life where you will see any and all kinds of people – and all kinds of fashion from the dressed down to the dressed up. I am certainly dressed up with this fab pantset from The Niven Collection. It’s named L U X E and it’s certainly luxe in look and feel. I saw the collection at Modavia Fashion week and really fell in love with many of the pants sets in Scarlett Niven’s collection.

Subways are fabulous places for people-watching if you’re not in a hurry yourself. Sadly, there’s no crowd of people to watch at the subway at Urban Decay. Incidentally, Urban Decay sells this subway station if you want to buy it to rez on your own sim.

A Touch of Color

sep11_004.jpg

One of my favorite finds at Modavia Fashion Week was this lovely mostly black and white floral print dress from Anubis Style. I say mostly black and white because the special touch that really enchanted me were the occasional colored flowers sprinkled in among the black and white ones.

Props for Poses

sep08_003.jpg
I love furniture and houses that have some poses built in and wanted to show you some of the lovely poses in Y’s Omake house and furniture. I am wearing a casual outfit featuring elements from Project Donate for UNICEF, Designers United and Hair Fair – a few of the events that are going on now.

I want to give props to the poses in Y’s houses and furnishing. I could not resist the beautiful windowseat full of poses that make the Omake house such a wonder.

…and Now I've Got Post Orgasmic Illness Syndrome

posted by Gidge Uriza

Ok, I had to. It’s Cajsa’s fault for writing about the POIS here. It just means Dots. I swear I don’t have the DREADED Syndrome.

It is however the name of the new release for Baiastice which is at The Dressing Room and everyone and their brother is blogging and wearing and if all my friends jumped off a roof yes I’d go too.

Honestly, I just thought the feeds might like to see it ONE MORE TIME.

Also, on my list of good things is the new hair released by EXILE for The Dressing Room.

Style Notes:

  • Skin – Belleza – Alyson Sunkissed Tone
  • Hair – EXILE for The Dressing Room – Bianca
  • Dress- Baiastice for The Dressing Room – Pois
  • Earrings – Alchemy Immortalis

Where's Waldo?

Aug16_007.jpg

When I shared a picture of this sim on plurk, Gogo said, “it looks like Where’s Waldo?” and she’s right. You will be very lost in a cacophony of color and detail at the Lemondrops Forest sim. Still, you should go there and explore. It’s full of whimy and fun, though be careful about crossing the bridge into Poopsburgh where only poops are allowed.

My outfit for exploring was certainly whimsical and fit right into Lemondrops Forest. The top is from Apple May designs and flowed perfectly into the Bottle Bird Petal Skirt I was wearing. The skirt comes with the accompanying leggings which are adorable, though I would prefer the option to wear with leggings or with a short glitch pants. Still, it’s easy enough to make acceptable glitch pants when the skirt is a plain fabric like this.

Memento Mori

Aug04_007.jpg

Memento Mori is a specific art piece – in any style or genre – that has the specific purpose of reminding us of our mortality. It says “Remember you must die.” The gown I am wearing is called Ange (Angel) and its rose color and loving detail is more a celebration of life, I thought it might be interesting to shoot it in the white on white Memento Mori – a complex and stunning cathedral build all in white that is alive with light shining through the countless windows.

Aug04_001.jpg

As a reminder of mortality, a cathedral is an obvious choice. It is where the rites of life’s passage happen from christening to burial, the parentheses of life. It also evokes the immortal promise of the sacred for those who share that belief. Generally, the immensity of a cathedral reminds us of our own insignificance as well as our mortality. The Memento Moril build at ChouChou V succeeds on all levels.
