Shopping in Second Life has lots of pleasures – including shopping to help others. For example, the gorgeous skirt is on sale at the Help Japan event and 100% of its proceeds will go to help respond to the people of Japan. The top is an adorable dress on sale at The Dressing Room. Gidge blogged it the other day, but I wanted to show you how well it works as a top as well.

Shhhhh! I am not supposed to be saying this! But some of you may have seen the drama Elusyve and I had with our store mascots over at GESTICULATE! Well – we had NO choice but to simply let them all go and hold auditions for new store mascots.

As that excitement grew, we realized that the gnomes were never EVER going to let us go – so we did the only thing we could. We completely rebranded and moved everything. As a matter of fact, the gnomes don’t know we’re gone. They’re still sitting around listening to the lucky chair call letters at the old place. Continue reading →

Cyber Geisha – More Than a Web Cam Girl…

That’s right. Cyber Geisha is a spoiled digital girl. As soon as I saw her at the Another Fundraiser 2 event I knew she was a girl after my own heart, and she had to be mine.

If you haven’t been/heard of the event yet, this is a fantastic fundraiser which is benefiting the Red Cross Relief for Japan. I was always so skeptical of hair attachments as a fashion statement until I really found good ones I liked. Amacci and Baiastice always come right to mind when I think of them (ok If I’m leaving you out calm down, I’m blonde and forgetful).
Sissy Pessoa recently released a new set of attachments and also offers hair bases at her shop so you can be SURE of a perfect match up.

Betty Doyle of Ingenue creates lovely, soft femme pieces that never fail to make my inner and outer girly girl drool when I put on her work. When I tried on her Spring Forward tanks yesterday, my first thought was, how lovely they’d be with some crisp white slacks, or a cotton skirt. Perfect for a day of antiquing and lunch with your girlfriends – like everything Betty makes it welled me up with girly joy.

So I was bored a few days ago, before the SICK really took hold and knocked me into the RL bed. I went wandering and traipsed through THE ICING.
First of all, THE ICING is officially a store I LOVE HARD. And unlike some places, the freebie wardrobe closet in the store isn’t full of crap I’d never wear (pro-tip I don’t want a tee with your store logo). I had the other two dresses but for some reason this Pizzicato Poppies is new or NEW TO ME.

Looking Good While Doing Good

I hope you spend some of this weekend at Fashion For Life and the Pacific Crisis Fundraiser. I know sometimes folks are reluctant to go because they think with so many people there will be a lot of lag. That has not been my experience. I hopped over to Bourke White last night to shoot these pictures and had no troubles with lag or rezzing even with my graphics cranked. I checked the map before going and went to the sim with the fewest people, but I don’t think any of the sims were full except, perhaps, Avalon, where there was a dance. Additionally, at Fashion For Life have incorporated many strategies to reduce lag to make your experience as enjoyable as possible.
