Shiryu of Shiki Designs has released a new collection featuring bold tropical colors and prints. This collection takes on the idea that island fashion limited to bikinis, board shorts and baggy prints shirts. These are chic designs that incorporate the insouciant spirit of the Hawaiian print shirt, but with a sexy, chic aesthetic. So, it’s totally perfect that this piece from the collection is called Honolulu Chic.

Back to Mysterious Wave
I had such a hard time finding a place to shoot photo pics last night. I ran around all over the place but I must have been bringing the Three Bears along with me because this sim was too hot and that sim was too cold and this sim was too soft and that sim was too hard. I seldom get in that nothing suits me mood and hate it because it really is me, not the sims that is out of sorts. I finally ended up at Mysterious Wave which has something for every bear with its many different exhibits.
On the clothing front, though, I was pleased with everything. I started the outfit out with the gauntlets. And therein lies a story. The other day I was browsing through some clothing and fashion sites and drooling over real life clothes and posted a plurkload of “please make these in SL” clothing porn. Imagine my delight when shortly after Tracy Rubble of Nzuri dropped me off one of items I had been lusting after – black gauntlets with dainty bows at the wrist. I love the combination of edgy goth gauntlets with the feminine detail of the bows. So thanks so much Tracy. I love my gauntlets. And guess what? She names them Cajsa Gauntlets. /me swoons!

Damn, My Skirt Got Wet
I went over to see the Worldview of Crie Style – a newly designed and really gorgeous installation at Crie Style and really should not have worn this long gown. It’s Nereide from the new collection at Baiastice of gowns named after dryads and nymphs. My first time wearing it and I soaked the hem.
Especially when Sissy Pessoa of Baiastice provided three options for the skirt including this mini.
The sim was so beautiful, though, it knocked all those practical considerations out of my head.

Quick Look: DDStyle for Couture of Hope
I had an adventurous day, making my first trip to the grocery store in over six months. Even though my friend did all the work and I just drove one of those electric go-carts, it still wore me out so this is a quick, short post with not much more than pictures.

If you go out in the woods today
I adore the Teddy Bear’s Picnic, but sadly I did not catch any in the woods at Villefranche, but I have to say the short path through the trees is a stunning little walk. I am wearing a cute strapless dress from Indie Rose with perhaps the best fitted belt ever made. Well, for me at least. The dress is one of the three Indie Rose made for Culture Shock, so be sure to go check it out and support Médecins Sans Frontières while you’re at it.

On Safari
While updating my notecard, I dressed for my travels in a lovely pair of capris and a comfortable leopard print top from Kunglers for Culture Shock. Now, let’s hope I don’t run into any leopards who might take umbrage . They looked so “safari chic” I had to pop back to Cap Estel to shoot some pics on safari. It’s a great place to visit and you can tour the safari by riding the giraffe which will take you around the park to see all the animals.
Some people might say it’s rude to mock the animals while on safari, but really isn’t humor part of the raison d’etre of ostriches?

House of Dashwood for Couture of Hope
The Avenue Couture of Hope fundraiser for Relay For Life is chock full of beautiful designs – which is fitting since hope is a beautiful thing. I particularly love the bodice on this gorgeous dress from House of Dashwood. Appropriately named Serapina after the angels, it’s a lovely and angelic white dress with lovely flowing tulle panels that bring to mind the wings of the seraphim.

Ephidryades
I don’t know what ephidryades are and Google failed me, but one thing I do know, it’s a beautiful dress and the top is as ethereal and delicate as dragonfly wings. I blogged the dress the other day and mentioned I was likely to mix the top up with other items since Sissy Pessoa took care to make the top with a bottom to tuck in. When I saw the skirt from Magoa’s Lilac English Rose dress, I knew I found a great mix and match skirt to wear with it for a shorter option. The skirt has a similar black on black brocade texture that makes a very congruent look. Even better, both are for the Culture Shock fundraiser, so get over there! I went again yesterday and although there were several people there I turned them off so lag did not kill me. Just go to Advance Menu and type in RenderAvatarMaxVisible and lower from the default of 35 to something low like 2 or 3.
UPDATE: Sissy explained that it Ephydryades and means sweet water nymph which totally makes sense when you look at the collar. Continue reading
Amazing
Sweetest Goodbye added a touch of whimsy to the glamour that has been the driving theme of Avenue’s Couture of Hope event for Relay For Life. When I saw the outfit I had two contrasting images come to mind. Marlene Dietrich who delighted in dressing in tuxedos and top hats and the props from the first Designers United event last year with the Vaudeville theme. I ran with both ideas at once because I lack discipline.
The pose box, hat and cane were all produced by /me for Designers United Vaudeville. Since the event is over and it’s no longer available, if someone wants to use it to snap a picture, just IM me and I will rez it at Glookbone and drop you a LM.

Mad World
All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for the daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I wanna drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow
