Looking Fresh In 1891

apr29_008

After reading about the Legacies 1891 sims in Honour McMillan’s blog yesterday, I had to run over there for a shoot. Thankfully, they allow you to join a group and wear an observer’s tag so you can be safe from zombies and Jack the Ripper. It’s an eerie place and I thought its grim danger might be a striking contrast to the cheery spring joie de vivre of my outfit.

I was not joking about the zombies. They sounded so scary! By the way, this sim cleverly has a tip jar to remind visitors to help support its continued existence. I try to remember to tip sim owners when I visit for a shoot – if they haven’t placed a tip jar reminder, I just pay a flower or a tree. We all benefit from these wonderful public sims and so many are disappearing. I know each little tip is a drop in the buck of tier, but buckets do get filled by drips and drops.

On Monday's I'm Very Ingenue

I needed something comfy but gently tailored for my Monday workday so pixel Gidge slipped into this mash up of pieces from Ingenue. Chocolate and pink together has been one of my favorites this past year so I couldn’t resist pairing her mink Katherine pants with this rose colored top. Continue reading

Cherry Blossoms

Apr21_009

The most exciting thing about events like Chic Limited is how creators can reify a single inspiration into a fascinating collection that illustrates perfectly that art is the expression of individuality. This month’s inspiration was Cherry Blossom and the collection ranges from softly feminine petal-adorned dresses to the pop art bold graphic style of this babydoll from So Many Styles.

As you can see, I had fun running around MiC Musee de Roma Capitale art installation to shoot my pics. I also used Windlight settings by CodeBastard Redgrave for thee beautiful red sky that really brought the art to life.

Fabulous Is Fabulous

apr16_004
There’s three ways of looking at the coincidence that both Gidge and I chose the same clothing from Betty Doyle’s Ingenue to blog at the same time. One is that we’re boring and predictable bloggers. The second is that great minds think alike. The third is that Fabulous Is Fabulous and who can resist fabulous. Ingenue has produced high quality clothing as long as I have been in Second Life. In the beginning, Doyle focused on the niche vintage market, but her work over the last year has moved firmly into contemporary sportswear and separates that are flagrantly feminine. Take the top and skirt in this outfit. They were released about a month apart but there is such a cohesive vision behind the collection that Gidge and I both thought to combine them, though in different colors. That cohesive visions also makes the colors suitable for mixing and matching with just about everything.

Such springlike romanticism made me think of springs and fairies and unicorns and other delights so I headed off to the Unicorn Sanctuary. I know it looks like it’s nothing but sunshine, gentle dew and rainbows, but explore around some and you will see that Enchanted is a very spooky place in parts.

I Am Slightly More Dressed This Morning – I Put On Earrings

This morning I am excited to tell you that in addition to all the other good things launching today, the Lo Lo Cafe Coffee Break starts today! YAAAAY!
Caroline’s Jewelry will be featuring her beautiful Cabochon Chandelier earrings!
A girl with a graceful neck can never have too many chandelier earrings.
I have a pet peeve in RL – Earrings should never be so heavy that they DRAG down your ear lobes. I don’t know why, it just looks gross and tacky to me. Continue reading

It Was a Dark and Stormy Night

mar22_002

It was a dark and stormy night in Borobodur. I had come unprepared for the wind and the rain and desperately wished I had brought an umbrella and was not wearing open-toed sandals. My feet were wet and my shoes slipped on the rough stone stairs. I shivered as sheets of rain poured down soaking through my clothing.

mar22_009

Then I changed my windlight settings. The outfit I wore to Borobodur was a cotton candy confection of pastels and springtime inspirations. It all began with the delicate floral Spring Forward tank from Ingenue. It’s beautifully made with excellent attention to details that we have come to expect from Ingenue. The minty color make me think of these leggings from Bubble that had sat in my closet waiting for their moment. I added the sweater from Tuli because springtime weather can be unpredictable. I was prepared for breezes, but not for downpours.

Valentine Ice

I knew I owned enough of the amazing creations from Ingenue to find something appropriate for the themed Valentine Ball that Shopping Cart Disco held Monday Night. The only question was WHAT to wear once I was IN my Ingenue Closet?
That was when I decided, I didn’t need Valentine pink or red, icy blue might be a lovely change up. Continue reading
