This Post Has Fashion And A Crazy Build…Something For Everyone

The new release from BAIASTICE – Poletje comes in a rainbow of jeweled colors.

It’s bright and cheery, the Asian inspired print of the bodice is perfect for summer gatherings and events. Thus it’s perfectly named, as according to the internets – that repository of all things – Poletje means SUMMER – in SLOVENIAN.

Where the hell is Slovenia? Is that still a place? Or is that someplace that used to be a place and then it wasn’t a place but now it’s a place again but you have to call it something else? Continue reading

Maxine, Maxine, Maxine

jun08_006

I fell for the Maxine dress from District even before I knew its name. I love the fabric that seems inspired by kente cloth patterns in a subtle cream and beige print. When I saw its name, it was case closed. My former roommate had a cat named Maxine who really liked me a lot and constantly competed with my cats for lap space. She was a black and white ragdoll, adorably cute in that long-haired lap cat kind of way. She was also quite possibly one of the most neurotic cats on the planet.

I Fell Down a Rabbit Hole

So I went to a place called the Green Gables Cafe but before I even got inside the little cafe, I saw a little door and a March Hare – and I just had to see what was on the other side. I was instantly transported into a magical little tea party. Continue reading

It is what it is

may25_006

Today’s blog post title comes from Mouse Mimistrobell of Dark Mouse fame. It works for this post because rather than attempting to explain the surrealist dreamscape that you find at Daytime Dreams where I shot the pictures, sometimes it just makes more sense to say “It is what it is” and simply enjoy the whimsical beauty without seeking any deeper meaning.

I added several pictures from the sim to Sasy Scarborough’s Second Life Stock Images Pool. Sometimes people prefer shooting in a studio and adding the background later. This is a source for great backgrounds from within SL.

Traveling in Bloom

may20_001

Wearing the Son of a Gun Vintage Doll dress from Grixdale, it seemed like a great outfit to go somewhere off the beaten path, so I traveled to Everwind, a residential sim full of adorable cottages nestled in a pastoral and village landscape that would be a perfect setting for nearly any fairy tale. The gorgeous shoes from Donna Flora for Shoe Fair have their own fairy tale beauty.

Heading on down to the mill, I walked past a lovely waterfall, crossing over the river on an elegant bridge. There’s a beautiful flagstone path through the woods. While I was there, I tried out the special new poses from Bent! made just for the Bloom dolls by Catherine Fairport. She has some amazing photos on Flickr. You should go look!

Damn, My Skirt Got Wet

may13a_029

I went over to see the Worldview of Crie Style – a newly designed and really gorgeous installation at Crie Style and really should not have worn this long gown. It’s Nereide from the new collection at Baiastice of gowns named after dryads and nymphs. My first time wearing it and I soaked the hem.

Especially when Sissy Pessoa of Baiastice provided three options for the skirt including this mini.

The sim was so beautiful, though, it knocked all those practical considerations out of my head.

If you go out in the woods today

may13_003

I adore the Teddy Bear’s Picnic, but sadly I did not catch any in the woods at Villefranche, but I have to say the short path through the trees is a stunning little walk. I am wearing a cute strapless dress from Indie Rose with perhaps the best fitted belt ever made. Well, for me at least. The dress is one of the three Indie Rose made for Culture Shock, so be sure to go check it out and support Médecins Sans Frontières while you’re at it.

Mad World

may05_007

The Ephidryades dress from Baiastice is stunning. I especially love the top and her effort in providing the lower part of the top even though the skirt hides that. This means you can mix it up with other clothing.

All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for the daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere

Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I wanna drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow

Orage Creations for Couture of Hope

may05_020
I first saw this dress when Orage Creations designer Elettra Gausman posted a picture of it on Facebook. The intricate lace of the skirt made me think of gossamer and of fabric woven from spider webs, it is that fine and that delicate. Its delicacy is stunning.

Inspired by the idea of hope, Elettra added some glowing kinetic hearts that swirl around since love is one of the building blocks of hope. In order to hope, we need to love ourselves and our lives, so it seemed very fitting.
