Of unicorns and nether parts

Hug the sparkly unicorn

I don’t often do skin reviews, but when I do, I hold a sparkly unicorn  plushie. (Insert appropriate gif here.) At any rate, I really like this Cupcakes skin. Instead of going through it pixel by pixel, let me tell you the story of when I first met Rosemary Galbraith. She was a n00b, and so was I. She had a shop with an enormously long name, and when I met her she was bald and buck naked, working on her very first skin. I thought she was drunk, but it turns out she’s actually just that friendly and awesome! One thing that I’ve noticed about her skins over the past five years is that they have some of the most awesome derrieres in SL. Do check them out, and the sparkly unicorn plushies from ~silentsparrow~ too!

If you wanna see proof…

A tiny bit not safe for work under the cut.

Edit: OH LOL, here I am talking about arses when Hybie is totally all up in other body parts. We’re a hot mess tonight.

I got stuck in Ivey’s Sn@tch

I got stuck in Ivey’s sn@tch earlier today. No really, I did….I went there to get this lovely new release called slow ride corset dress and I couldn’t teleport home. It wasn’t so bad though…her sn@tch is lovely. Anyways, she has an awesome concept going….purchase by size, I’m usually a medium and this was the same. I know her and others have been kinda blah about the whole standard sizing thing but I gotta tell ya, she makes a fine ass and I mean mesh ass…she’s not an ass…she is super.

Whimsy at Linden Endowment for the Arts

LEA13

I put on this dress from Donna Flora and loved the whimsical fabric choice. This inspired me to leave my box and head off in search of a fun, whimsical place to shoot. I started at Linden Endowment for the Art by opening my map and entering LEAin the search window starting with 1. By the way, LEA1 is gorgeous, just not whimsical. Anyway, I ended up at 13 where I fell in love. I was so excited I mass broadcast a SLURL to everyone  online telling them I found a great sim if they wanted to check it out. Several folks showed up for a peek, enough to make me crash.

LEA13

And some of us danced! Yay for mesh skirts that skipped along with us. As you can see, Gidge and I, completely by coincidence, wore the same dress – and look very different. She’s wearing a much more classic feminine style while mine is casual and playful.

Cartoon Friends In a Cartoon World

Cartoon Girls

I couldn’t resist checking out LEA13 between Honour McMillan’s post and Cajsa already being there and insisting that it was amazing.  I wasn’t prepared for the stark beauty or the enchanting whimsy the place would inspire. Cajsa loved it so much she sent some blasts that people should come join us.

Our friend Hart Larsson of PXL Creations did just that!
Cartoon Friends

Hart must’ve found it to be as playful and fun as we did, because he lead a bout of random dancing that must’ve gone on for nearly 45 minutes. Continue reading

Mon Tissu Contest

Hi!

Tonight is the deadline for the Mon Tissu Blogger Search contest, and I couldn’t resist giving it a go.  It’s my favorite store on the grid, a virtual Anthropologie!  How can you not love that?  The contest ends at midnight, so you still have time to throw your hat into the ring.  There are some amazing entries!  Even if you don’t enter, take a moment to look at the beautiful work everyone has done in the Mon Tissu Flickr group.

These were already posted on my Flickr account, but I wanted to post the looks here.  It’s not often I venture out to do “on-location” shots, so I thought I’d share the lovely locations in case you’re looking for a new spot for photos!

A Nip in the Air

sept17_002

I thought there was a nip in the air the other day. Turns out it might have been early flu symptoms, but whatever the reason, feeling chilly in real life got me seeking comfy, cozy in Second Life® so I put on the layers. I began this outfit with this gorgeous mesh jacket from La Penderie de Nicole. La Penderie de Nicole is a new store for me, but the designer Marcopol Oh is someone whose photography I have admired for a long time. The houndstooth print is gorgeous and I love the little trace of red dashing through it.

First time buyers may feel some hesitation because we are accustomed to either a one-item boxed Pay vendor or a Buy vendor with all the items. Seeing the landmark and 1 item in the Buy window, I wondered for a moment whether there was an error in setting up the vendor, but never fear, it’s just that the many size options were all boxed and added with the landmark.
