Paeoti For Me, Please! Or – Another Celebration of My Cleavage

posted by Gidge Uriza

I got this gorgeous box of goodies dropped on me – and I first had to share with you this Paeoti – Malady Formal Gown. I swear I had to wear it JUST for an excuse to put on one of my Symphony Skins with the fantastic BUSTY option.

I mean. FOR REAL.

I’m all about my cleavage today – aren’t I? Continue reading

Not Gollum

Agnes Finney makes deliciously glam clothing, but I confess that her store name To My Precious makes me think of Gollum. However, is there anything in the world less Gollumish than this gorgeously glam red dress with the thigh-high slit in the pencil skirt and the glorious butterfly sleeves?

You're Just Jealous of My Sn@tch

posted by Gidge Uriza
HI! Memba Me? Well I’m back, and while trying to figure out WHAT to start with I reached for a review item dropped on my by one of my favorite clothiers Ivey Deschanel – from SN@TCH. I was in a casual mood as I convalesced and the JUST JEALOUS top and capris fit the bill for what I wanted to wear.

In this case, I think it’s the CLEAVAGE she’s referring to. 🙂 Continue reading

G-L-O-R-I-A, Gloria!

The new Gloria dress from Chantkare is a lovely lacy confection with a big full skirt and a wide waist sash, but it was too romantic for my  mood for when I put it on, so I took off the skirt and switched in the sleek and sexy Pixel Dolls High Button Miniskirt instead.  The blouse is the sort that puts the va in va-va-voom but  I wanted something to wear with the new buckle wedge from Anexx. Something edgy, not romantic. Switching skirts gave the top a whole new direction.

For the next month or so, there will be a yard sale. Members of the Fashion Bloggers in-world group are cleaning inventory and are putting out some great stuff for sale at steep discounts. Although previously worn, items are guaranteed to be stain-free, with no rips or tears unless intentional. If you’re looking for some great bargains on wonderful clothing  – from all sorts of great stores including ones that are long gone and viewed as collector’s items, you can hop over to the Fashion Bloggers Yard Sale. There’s everything from costumes to lingerie to ball gowns and stops in between.

If you are in the Fashion Bloggers group and want to clean out your inventory, just wear the group tag when rezzing the items and sell them in 1 prim boxes with a photo on it.

Quick Look: Chantkare

Applonia Criss dropped a few items my way a couple weeks ago, including this lovely day dress (Kim) that is elevated from casual to chic with some clever embellishments on the neckline.  It’s a lovely mauve color – a great fall color that’s less ubiquitous in fall designs. In this shot, you can also get a good look at the fabulous new hair from Exile – Juliette. Exile has new textures that are even better than before, so it’s an exciting time for those of us who love Kavar Cleanslate’s innovation and experimentation with style and movement in hair.

Puttin' on the Ritz

There was a burst of chic goodness that flowed into the fashion stream like a waterfall last weekend. My inventory overflowed and I was adrift in choices of what to wear. But I absolutely had to wear the new COCO Tuxedo that is so gorgeous I could almost hear it singing “I feel pretty, oh so pretty…” I suppose you think clothes don’t sing, but it’s SL. They can do anything. The tuxedo jacket comes in gray and black and I wore the gray for more contrast with the black feather skirt. Feathers and Tuxedos don’t go together usually, but the skirt was humming “Putting on the Ritz” and the potential for a great fashion song mash-up should never be denied. The fab boots are from Pixel Mode – where the 50L sale just eroded all my will power and flooded my inventory with PM goodness.

A la folie

A la Folie was my budget buster at the GLAM Expo. It was not just the variety of dresses, the sheer femininity of the designs, their movement and whimsy. It was also the wonderful textures she explored from pop prints to the most romantic of white on white embroidery as in this dress she named Josephine.  I don’t know if she gave it that name after the Empress Josephine whose great contribution to fashion was the empire waist, but it seems likely as the layered skirt over another skirt is another style the Empress wore a lot.  Empress Josephine is a favorite character of mine from history, not just because she was an elegant woman with a solid head on her shoulders, but also for her amazing contributions to rose cultivation – she popularized and spread rose cultivation and it’s questionable whether roses would be so common today without her influence. How appropriate then, that the embroider on the underskirt is white on white roses.

The Dark Side of the Moon

PXL Creations has released Luthien – a dark elf skin – and having no expertise in elves at all, I promptly put on a fairy dress from Fancy Fairy even though something tells me elves don’t have wings. I really wanted to shoot the elf skin with the wonderful Goddess Moon pose prop from Studio Sidhe and assume that a dark elf would be on the dark side of the moon.

All that you touch
All that you see
All that you taste
All you feel.
All that you love
All that you hate
All you distrust
All you save.
All that you give
All that you deal
All that you buy,
beg, borrow or steal.
All you create
All you destroy
All that you do
All that you say.
All that you eat
And everyone you meet
All that you slight
And everyone you fight.
All that is now
All that is gone
All that’s to come
and everything under the sun is in tune
but the sun is eclipsed by the moon.

“There is no dark side of the moon really. Matter of fact it’s all dark.”

Pink Floyd

The lovely dress and wings are from Fancy Fairy – the Dew Petal dress in Violet.
