Tres Jolie's ChouChou

Tres Jolie's Chouchou

A great friend celebrated his Rez Day last night and even though i knew I wanted to wear Tres Jolie’s ChouChou, this lovely dress made from a wonderful rich and detailed Japanese brocade, I just thought it was too dressy and formal for the event which promised to include mud wrestling. What to do?

Accesorize!! By switching to more casual shoes, losing the Dalia necklace that generously comes with the dress and choosing more casual hair and jewelery, it became casual enough for the party – though I promise you, I did not mud wrestle in this dress. Imagine the dry cleaning!!

I love retro prints. They are bright, cheerful and full of whimsy. The Audrey Dress is as whimsical as they come and just wearing it lifts my mood. Not only that, I was going shopping. I just wish clothes shopping worked the way grocery shopping does. You know what I mean, if I eat a snack before shopping for groceries, I can walk right past all the temptations and leave the store spending no more than I planned. But….no matter how well I dress, no matter how chic I feel, those clothing store temptations can reel me in. Nonetheless, I dress up for shopping….just in case it might work one day and save my wallet a few lindens.

Tricky Little Wicky

Ingenue’s wonderful Tricky Little Wicky in Watermelon found @ RFL. Irresistible as watermelon is my favorite fruit and one of my favorite colors, too. Soft, feminine and floaty – a perfect spring dress. All due respect to Torley for his dedication and his hard work making Second Life better for all of us, but I have to say this. Torley!!! this is watermelon!!! That color you call watermelon. It isn’t watermelon.

Maht teases me constantly about my love of the autumnal colors. Well, it’s true, I love the greens, oranges and browns of autumn and boy did this outfit let me indulge my taste. This is just one of the many combinations the lucky fashionista can select as the outfit comes with the sweater, skirt and tights in the shades of the plaid jacket.

I saw Felice Haruka’s sleek and elegant accessorizing of this dress and drooled on my keyboard. Quickly making my way to Tuli, I picked up this gorgeous dress and then decided to accessorize to take it in a different direction from her oh-so-elegant outfit to something a bit more playful and funky. Check out Felice’s composition here: http://feliceharuka.blogspot.com/2008/04/tuligwen.html

Nothing makes me feel more feminine that some vintage clothing and no one makes better vintage than Ivalde. The clothes are lovely and if you join her group, you will realize what a sweet person she is, too, with her weekly notes and updates.

I want, however, to focus on the jewelry for a moment because this is a jeweler whose fabulous offerings may be missed simply because the majority of her work won’t appeal to non-role-playing residents. Her store is on a Viking sim and the majority of her work is slave jewelry, but if you go from your landing point to the farthest right corner of the store, you will find some amazing contemporary designs such as this necklace.  Yes, it’s only a small fraction of her stock, but it’s well worth bookmarking her and hoping she makes some more everyday jewelry in the future.

Pochette's Autumn Skirt

I just love this outfit. I like casual but feminine and this fits the bill. I love the autumn color palette and most of all, I love skirts that fit perfectly. I don’t know how she does it, but the skirt is so perfect, no little butt bubbles in the back. Don’t you just hate butt bubbles? Additionally, the belt is aligned as though custom made for my shape. I am in love. More photos on my Flickr

Isn’t this dress gorgeous? Maht, my honey, gave it to me for my RL birthday and he’s such a sweetie he scoured Second Life for some Japanese Irises and Lilies of the Valley, remembering that I once said they were my favorite flowers. You just go try to find lilies of the valley and you will appreciate how hard he worked.

It’s from Avid – my friend Arcadia’s favorite store and one where Maht buys a lot of his clothes. This is my first dress from Avid and it’s so lovely, I am sure to go for more. More photos on Flickr

Victorian Steampunk Dress

This just appeals to me. I love the antique brown and the lovely lace details. Maht might say it’s because if it’s brown, I am bound to love it, but that’s not true. The bodice is lovely and the lace on the sleeves is perfect and isn’t this a soft, gentle shade of brown – very feminine, I think.  More photos on Flickr
