A Wonderful Rouge Day!

To be perfectly honest, Saturday was an odd day. I woke up disgustingly early and found myself wandering back for a short nap around 7 AM or so…and slept until 4 in the afternoon. That is not a good plan for accomplishment and ticking off to-do lists, let me tell you. How wonderful then, that the One Year Anniversary Party for the Rouge Sim was a 12 hour party – so I could sleep through part of it, take care of some to-do’s and still not miss it. I was lucky enough to get there in time for the SLAG Burlesque Show.

I invited a guy I know to come, but I guess, “hey, you want to come watch a burlesque show?” creates the wrong impression.  Scared him to death!  Anyway, for the event, I wore this lovely black and rouge lingerie dress that was ideal for sitting and dancing – and looking good while doing it.

Charliz without an e

There’s nothing that says Summer Saturday like a flowing, sleeveless dress with a dash of cotton lace crochet – and that’s exactly what Kunglers Charliz gown is. With a double layer of skirt prims for some sheer excitement, it’s summerlicious.  I have to point out the adorable and clever Gems &  Kisses necklace and earrings – a gift from my friend Arcadia of Fashion360 and MDR Studio. A more pedestrian jeweler would have completed those circles, but by leaving that little gap, they have a stronger narrative power and wit – sort of like that note that you are lead to expect in Libiamo, the note that isn’t there, sort of like the e in Charliz.

Not Your Granny's Granny Square

How many of you have a granny square afghan made by some older relative who tirelessly crocheted multitudes of color scraps of yarn into rosettes and squares and then painstakingly sewed or crocheted them together?  Well, Crochet takes that ubiquitous crocheted rosette favored by grannies the world over and puts them to very un-grannylike use.  Ahem…I present to you the  Crochet Candy Bikini & Skirt – though it would be more appropriately named Shock Your Granny!

Granny says Eep!

Granny says "Eep!"

Denim Days

It’s Friday – and I am feeling casual and denim suits my mood, so luckily there’s this lovely little jumper from Kunglers in a soft denim. With grey denim trim at the waist, this is a nice casual day dress that goes anywhere. Suiting all weather, too, as you can easily slip a turtleneck sweater underneath.

It's a New Day

So I can show off another Modern Gypsy outfit. Seriously, I know this is the third in as many days, but I love them and didn’t really pay attention when shooting. With this one, I love the new silhouette he is creating. It’s so much fun to see people working with sculpties to give our clothing more options as far as fit and shape. This loosly fitting shift dress is a wonderful demonstration of how sculpties are changing SL fashion.

Swinging Summer Dress

Here’s a summer dress with swing, style and movement. I just love the flow of the prims that are accentuated by the angled skirt that is super short on the left and sweeps the knees on the right. Add the lovely lace underskirt and you have a dress made for dancing and the nightlife – especially on a hot summer night. As you can see it’s cotton lace, so cooler than most lace and the sleeveless bodice will keep the heat down temeperature-wise while dialing the heat up style-wise. From Couverture, its bold blue and yellow print brings its own heat.

Totally a coincidence

Okay, it’s totally a coincidence that all the outfits that I have lined up to blog are from Micah Kanto’s Modern Gypsy. I wasn’t paying attention and I just liked them so much. So if Gidge nudge-nudges, ignore her. I don’t think I have even met Micah Kanto face to face.  So, if I am crushing, I am crushing on the clothes. Honestly, wouldn’t you be crushing on this dress?

Speaking of crushing, look at that jewelry. I am so crushing on Ryker Beck right now and on Alexandre Biedermann, the guy responsible for that hair.

Party All Night Long

I wore this Friday night – the evening of Bandana Day and dutifully wore it with a bandana even though I went to the grand opening party of the new Naive store. I really enjoyed the dance which was dj’ed by Summer Deadlight who worked the playlist with humorous little sets of songs that kept the party mood light, happy and a bit antic. I thought it might be declasse to wear something by someone else to the Naive party, but then realized that of course it was not. So I wore this love party dress from Modern Gypsy. He’s just released a new collection, though when I ran over to check it out, what’s the first thing that caught my eye? This little number from his last collection.  Oh well, I don’t mind being trailing edge fashion when it looks this hot and is this perfect for a dance party. Continue reading

LBD

It’s about time I show you the other dress I used when snapping all the Hair Fair pictures. This again has a simple neckline and does nothing to distract from framing the hair beautifully. From Pixel Dolls, it’s called Cashmere and definitely projects that soft and sensuous fabric.

Zoe: Collaboration

I love it when Second Life designers decide to work on something together. It’s a testament to the openness of SL Fashion Community and to the freindships and connections people make though Second Life and through their mutual love of fashion. In this case, Leah McCullough of Naive and Mouse Mimistrobell of Dark Mouse produced completementary dresses and jewelry.
