Have you ever seen a more perfectly perky pink than that in this happy dress from Liriope. The dress name is Night’s Flower, presumably for the black field in which the happy pop-art flowers spread their cheerful glory. The fun and gravity-defying shape of the skirt adds to the sense of joy the dress projects.
I shot the pictures at Two Moons Island – a beautiful and happy sim full of rainbows, butterflies and wonders to behold.

I fell in love yesterday, with an installation called XIV on the Dignity Sim. Such a stunning venue deserved a stunning dress and the limited edition Nora from Baiastice is just the dress. Designed for the Chic Limited event that features 30 designers producing works based on a theme. The January theme is Sweet and Sour. Sadly, it’s been so long since shooting water, I forgot that shooting pictures larger than your screen size will fracture the water in photos – a sorry photo glitch that has been around for over a year now.
Because of the water glitch, I logged back in just to shoot some photos of the sim reducing the size to my screen size – which is how you get rid of that glitch. Here’s one of the many photos from XIV, the lovely installation. I took a few dozen photos of the sim for the Stock Photos Flickr group Sasy Scarborough started – sharing photos suitable for people to use as backgrounds for those who prefer shooting in the studio and popping in a background later.

I’m on a mission to explore the other colors in the wheel besides blonde from time to time, and today my spin landed on CAROB in the Truth library of beautiful color.
Carob is, to me, a disgusting powder forced upon me in childhood by well meaning relatives who felt certain it had nutritional value and would work to improve your health. They also were under the delusion that it “tasted just like chocolate.”

In case you missed the news, I have been exploring the fresh new hell that is modern medical care. Don’t get me wrong, I am overwhelmed by the compassion and professional care provided by the nurses, doctors and all the staff. Even when I have been “i know you are trying to kill me” paranoid, they have been wonderful. But all the compassion in the world cannot put the lid back on the bug jar when that bizarre combination of real physical pain, the loss of editorial control from pain meds and the psychosis induced by renal failure introduced me to an entire new world. In fact, when I get out I think I have some blockbuster sci-fi stories on file, if I can find some thread of coherence.
Isn’t it just perfect, then, that the last photo shoot before I went into the hospital is atypical of my usual shoot and includes some pics that would totally fit into a couple of my narratives of the last week, like the one where the Dept. of Defense was attempting to do a consciousness transfer of my mind to the man who loves war via Ipod. Ipod??? Go figure. But I am pleased that the DoD was on the side of peace and justice and only hatched their scheme in response to his love of war.

Monica Outlander’s Black Label collection for her dazzling Spleen and Ideasm show is full of stunning and amazing outfits. The range in mood from the outrageously avant garde to the sedately regal. The Indrith gown is one of the most regal gowns in the collection with its rich colors, its fleur-de-lis textures and its massive panniers that give it majesty.
A dress of this scale deserves a setting that is also majestic – like ChouChou V – Memento Mori with a staircase made for long gowns.

I had noted a plurk announcing that Paper Couture had released their fall collection for sale just moments before I logged in that day, so thought “What the hell” and ported over. The place was crampacked with A-listers, some of whom were naked for some unknown reason (my TPV seems to leave people naked a long time for me, so OHAI I’ve seen a lot of you naked lately). I picked up THE FRENCH CONNECTION hair from Clawtooth at the Hair Fair (sim 1) and figured at some point I’d figure out what to wear with it.
The SECOND I saw Whimsy plurk this new release from THE ICING I knew I’d found it!
You had me at it comes in PINK!
It actually comes in several colors including a fall appropriate houndstooth. But none of the other colors were pink.
Now I am off for some real life!
