Yes, I know the world and her sister is blogging the new releases from Armidi. But then, who could resist such sumptuous shine as this? I have to shade my eyes! This is the Barlu Fiore Tresia and if could only speak Italian I could tell you how well-named it is. The word fiore is flower – familiar from the wonder millefiore necklaces that are a wonderful RL wardrobe addition. That is so apt, that I am sure the rest of the name is equally perfect. Whether I can understand the name or not, I know I love it. There are a few more photos of it on my flickr and more info and style notes after the cut. Continue reading

Shopping in the City
Have you been to The World yet? It’s a lovely sim, with all the appearance of and old medieval city throughout. The only anachronistic features are modern steam pipes and, of course, teleport technology. Not being an RPG player, I wore this delightful sundress from Casa del Shai. When I saw how perfectly it matched the pots in the market, I could not resist taking a snap. With it I am wearing the too charming to be believed mules from Aphrodite Outlander of AC Creations. These shoes are adorable and delightful. Completely the outfit, the cherry wood Boho Gypsy from EarthTones. There are more photos on Flickr – and a closeup and style notes after the jump.
Butterflies Are Free
Some of these butterflies are free – a freebie from Baiastice. When I put this lovely, whimsical dress from Biana F on, it struck my how similar in color intensity and detail the butterflies and flowers were to the darling gift from Baiastice and I wondered if they would suit as well as I imagined. Well, I will let you judge for yourself, but I liked it. I liked it even more when I tossed on MiaSnow Myriam’s delicate and fragile Black Dahlia skin. I admit I would not wear it everywhere, but for the right party – I think it’s a great combination.
You can see more photos on my flickr. A more conventional accessorizing of the dress and style notes are after the jump.
Fresh-Baked Geisha
My favorite stores for clothes shopping are those small, idiosyncratic boutiques that offer maybe 20 items instead of 200, whose clothing is not designed to mix and match, but follows the creative whims of the designer. That’s where you find some of the more fun and unique clothing and accessories – such as most of the items in this outfit. The dress come from Stitch by Stitch on the new moosh sim. It’s a delightful store created with love and if you care to take up sewing your own, they have an adorable sewing machine, too. Like many of the really fun boutiques, they offer around 20 items, not 200, but each one is unique. Fresh Baked Goods, where the mah jongg bracelets came from is equally delightful – a pastel confection and though it offers only a few items, they are wonderful. These fabulous bracelets have a touch script to change colors. Full disclosure: my bracelets were a gift from the owner – a thank you for my mention of her other fabulous bracelets in another post. Twinkleberry – the source for the necklace and earrings – falls into that small boutique group as well – and like them, has unique designs.
That’s not to say I don’t have a big space in my heart for the high-end department stores and other major designers. When I need to fill a hole in my closet – when i know what I am looking for, that’s where I go. But for whimsy, there’s nothing like a small boutique

Starry Night Romance
Posted by Cajsa Lilliehook
My partner and I had a date last night and since he has been away for a week, i wanted a special dress and know he always likes my dresses from Art & Fashion. I knew he would love this one because he was going to get if for me for my birthday, but i had already purchased it.
If you don’t know Lady Thera Taurog’s work, you are in for a treat. Taking inspiration from great artist like Van Gogh, as in this dress, but also Monet, Cezanne, Magritte and Kandisky to name just a few, Lady Thera creates incredible fabrics by reimagining some of their great works. A lesser artist might clone stamp selections of the original art, but if you look at this dress or any of her others, you can see that she recreates the work – in new and beautiful homages to the original.
Now I have never asked her, but I assume Lady Thera likes to dance because she designs ideal dresses for dancing. The flexi-prims are soft and flowing, generously distributed and spaced artfully to give discreet flashes of thigh while you dance. Her dresses are designed with such craft that they retain their flow and soft romantic feeling while you dance.
The dress comes with an alternate top for more casual wear and with gloved sleeves as well. I combined it with dark blue shoes from Aphrodite Creations to match the dark blue in the bodice and a pair of long dangling earrings from Untone.
You can see more photos of the dress at my Flickr. Closer snap of the bodice and earrings as well as style notes after the jump.
Irises by Lady Thera
February 20th-
There are dozens of creative, innovative designers in Second Life but there is only one Lady Thera Taurog. Lady Thera designs clothes that incorporate textures inspired by great masterpieces of the world’s finest aritists. This dress is inspired by the iris paintings of Vang Gogh. Lady Thera doesn’t just copy a texture square and paste it into her clothing texture, she reimagines the texture and incorporates it into the gown with innovation and imagination.
As a bonus, Lady Thera’s flexi textures such as her skirts are amazing. They float, they sway, the move naturally as your body moves. Lady Thera is the sort of designer who once you own one of her items, you will want to own all of them…and luckily, she has her entire collection for sale in a box….though I noticed that far to late to benefit from the discount.

House of Shai –
I didn’t buy these pants when I first saw them, wondering how that high waist would work. Sure, it can flatter the back end, but what about when you sit? As a photographer, I look at clothes with frames in my mind, seeing the photo problems the clothes could cause. I need not have worried. This clothes are camera-friendly. The success of this suit is really in the details. See how smoothly the bell sleeves hang and yet do not fall through my arm. The gathering at the elbow and torso give it the naturalistic look we all want. And what would be better to wear with this than the gorgeous new Serenity shoes from Aphrodite Outlander of Aphrodite Creations. They come in a range of colors that can’t be missed.Shape: melli2 by hatchy mills Skin: Amy by RaC Pantsuit: Dakota by Casa de Shai Shoes: Serenity by Aphrodite Creations Necklace & Earrings: Chinoserie Azure by Muse
