Blogging My Bedroom Floor Chapter Six:WoE Is Me

You didn’t think I was done did you? Good god. My bedroom is an even bigger mess right now just because of all the stress in my life I’ve been throwing stuff out there like mad, but I’m trying with products like Exhale’s delta 8 pens that relax me a little. Today’s post is a combo of things on my floor, things not on my floor, and things on my floor that were already IN my inventory but for some reason I hadn’t picked up the box yet.
I dunno. You’ve met me right? I’m TOTALLY scattered. Continue reading

Burana

oct 23_005

One of my favorite releases from the Fall collections is the Burana dress from Sissy Pessoa of Baiastice. It reminds me of sea shells and has such a modern, innovative look with the texture and the shell=like prims dotted around the skirt and bodice. Equally intriguing is the name, Burana, which brings to mind the collection of profane songs written by monks, many of which were put to music by Carl Orff in 1935. In particular, O Fortuna, has become ubiquitous in movie soundtracks. So much so, that recently a friend was lamenting how much she hated hearing that song. It’s unfortunate that cliche-ridden and hackish directors abuse songs like that, but we need to remember that it’s not the song’s fault that some folks cannot think deeper than the first cliche they recall. To remind yourself of just how amazing that song is, you should listen to Ray Manzarek’s arrangement in his CD that I believe touched off the flood of over-exposure for this amazing piece of work.

Blogging My Bedroom Floor – DAY ONE – DREAMS

posted by Gidge

So I have this terrible habit from my early days of blogging. When I buy or am sent things that are boxed, and I don’t have my planner near me – I just drag them out onto the floor.

From there, a couple of different things can happen.

1. I open the item and like it and blog it right then.

2. I open the item/look at the vendor image and like it and think “I’ll blog that later” and leave it.

3. I do not open the item but intend to open the item, and leave it.

Thus, my bedroom floor.

My husband has intimated to me that it might be his preference that I clean up my room.

Thus. The Bedroom floor project begins. HERE IS HOW IT WORKS.

I’m gonna put it on and blog it. Unless I hate it. And then I’m going to delete it and we shall never speak of it again. Let’s see how many stores that are out of business are still sitting on my bedroom floor – shall we?

But to start with, I actually have a goodie……DREAMS – which is owned by creator Sanura Snowpaw. Continue reading

I couldn’t decide what to wear this morning, so decided that I’ve got new undies that haven’t been properly flaunted about by me yet.

There is probably some irony in the fact that I’m addicted to lingerie, but only have you guys to show it to. My husband just isn’t as interested in my pixel lingerie as you might imagine. Continue reading

Echoes & Mirrors

sep08_017.jpg
The myths of Narcissus and Echo have inspired a tremendous outpouring of art throughout history and now and exhibition of the creative arts of Second Life with Designers United. The majority of the work at Designers United is fashion – such as this dress I am wearing, but there’s also posemaking and home building. The mirroring bench I used in these shots with their poses is an outstanding example of that creativity and craftsmanship.

The genius is that the poses in the bottom bench mirror the poses in the top and a semi-sheer prim separates them to give the effect of water. Taking two photos and putting them together is a relatively simple task and with the bench designed to create the mirrored effect, it was an easy thing to do.

The Best Store Name in Second Life®

House of Hucci! I love that store name, bringing to mind Gucci and Hoochie Mama at the same time and boldly declaring that you will definitely find some hoochie at Hucci. Everytime I see the store name I smile at the wit behind the name, wit that I tangle with on plurk from time to time as Eboni Khan of  House of Hucci is one of those wonderful people who can discuss politics and disagree without being disagreeable. One of the joys of plurk is lively disagreement that stays friendly. Here, though, she applying her skills to bring us a lovely, flowing summery gown that I thought deserved a fantastical and wildly surreal venue for the shoot.

I went to a list of sites recently sent to me by Hybrid Ansar who we all hope will be back in SL soon. One of the links she sent me was to Antenmaria, an amazingly beautiful fantasy world. There are these long purple strings hanging down that sound like wind chimes and glow is everywhere. I guess I could not resist the purple terrain and knew this was the site for this dress.
