IFW10 – Balancing Act

Today’s the last day of International Fashion Week, which come to think of it, should probably be International Fashion Long Weekend or International Fashion Four Days. I wish it were a week – which would give me more days to spread out my posts about the designs I want to highlight – so I am not posting 4 times in one day. But I suppose there’s reasons for a shorter event – events like these are often balancing acts of meeting competing needs such as finding good times for people from around the world to participate in an event that spans every time zone.  So in honor of all the concerns of designers, customers, bloggers, models and anyone else that must be juggled by event organizers, I thought I would shoot this dress from Orage Creations in Olive Juice’s Ball Pit – where there are many balls in the air – and they are in very delicate balance.

IFW10 – Floralie

So I went to Elephant Walk to shoot this flamboyantly floral Floralie gown from A La Folie  for IFW10 thinking I would perch by the peacock and snap while he walks by with this tail flourished as the train is flourished on the dress. Well, he did walk by, I snapped, but after 45 minutes and dozens of refreshed failed snaps, I have to confess that I was out outwitted, outplayed and outlasted by a pixel peacock. Yes, I finished the shoot with out the flouishes² and left the island. The peacock is the sole survivor (well with miscellaneous toucans, wild felines, monkeys and other wildlife.

Don't Let Us Mislead You…

posted by Gidge Uriza

…we’re this sexy with our clothes on too.

That’s right, I’m short. I don’t know when this happened. I used to be the damn tallest avatar on the grid I swear, people went on and on about how freaking TALL I was. Then I bring over an elf and………I’m short. What the fuck? I think when I got a revised version of my shape I got shorter or something. Continue reading

Cross the Sea

One of my favorite artists in Second Life is elros tuominen whose kinetic sculptures are fascinating expressions of hope and joy. I have several of them rezzed on a transparent platform in the sky because I love shooting pictures with them and also enjoy seeing them resting in the clouds.  The particular sculpture in this set is called Cross the Sea – a series of moving blocks of shifting shades of blue to white. It’s hypnotically beautiful and a favorite of mine.

The Creone gown recently released by Monica Outlander of MiaMai is another beautiful expression of joy.

Dreamy

Sometimes an outfit is just dreamy with soft, gentle colors – all flowing and romantic. That’s the case with this one, though the dreaminess begins with the stunning hair from BOON. The new XFE275 hair from BOON is an amazing confection that I like think came out of dreams – nice, misty dreams or roses and romance.

A Day In The Life of a Very Spoiled Kitty

posted by Gidge Uriza

Yaaaaawn Stretch. Hiyas everyone. You all have Callie Cline to blame for my transformation into the most spoiled kitty on The Grid. I just went over to buy a couple of dresses, but there it was, the tail by Psychotic Neko for Callie Cline and the diamond Nekoture ears…….and I was hooked. Come on, how could I not love something THIS girly?

I thought I’d torture you and make you follow the glammiest, prissiest kitty ever around for a day. There are even two SUPER SPECIAL GUEST STARS in today’s post, but you gotta WAIT for them!

To start our kitty day, we need a bath. NO, we are not afraid of water. As long as the water comes from a fancy roman bath…….quit staring, you bum lookers.

Life Begins at 225 MPH

Anyone who has read this blog for any amount of time knows that I am FROM Indianapolis and that as far as I’m concerned the only reason the month of May exists is so that cars can scream around the Speedway for my pleasure.

I dug into my closet and came out with this excellent Seaside Sweetie set from 5th and Oxford to wear today to celebrate my favorite racing event. You gotta wear black and white, there are rules – especially if you are going to any sort of GOOD party. Plus, you may not know this, but the good people of Indianapolis cannot SEE the race, which starts in 31 minutes AS I type this.

Nope – they are blacked out. Can’t watch until about 6pm or so tonight. Isn’t that lame? Continue reading

The Week of Yummy Goodness

I had my birthday this week – which meant Angel Food Cake and Stawberries & Cream. Yummy goodness I limit to once a year. It was amazingly good and I had two slices!! Add to that the arrival of Belleza’s Elle and Zaara’s new retro-hot lingerie and last week was definitely a week of yummy goodness.

Now, I am not a skin reviewer who goes along the seam lines looking for flaws – though from what I can tell, if I did I would find none. I judge skins on how they make me feel and how I look. I don’t like to edit my shape – and prefer skins that keep my looking like me – just with different makeups and emphasis/shades.  Belleza is perfect for that.
