I love the cute summer dress from NYU for faMESHed. It comes in a rainbow of colors that inspired me to try out a new trick with projectors in Second Life. There’s a video tutorial from Torley Linden at the end of the post explaining how to do it and you will want to try – it was a lot of fun. As to the lovely cotton summer dress, you know it will be cool, breezy and a delight in the hot weather.
The other day Inex Hax asked for same suggestions for this elegant houndstooth dress she was about to release for Peqe. I suggested Baskerville and then, for some reason, did not see follow-up replies because Plurk was being glitchy. So, when I logged in and saw an object from her named Cajsa, I assumed that she had labeled it for delivery. Until I opened it and saw that the box was called Cajsa because the dress was called Cajsa and that was when my eyes popped and I said, “Hey, that’s me!” Like anyone, I am thrilled to have a design named after me, especially when my name confounds so many people. Even better, though, when the dress is so very much “my style” like this dress. You all know I have a deep, abiding love for sheath dresses and pencil skirts, prints and elegant designs that pull from the past but look to the future. This is all that in one.
I love how Second Life Serendipity works. Take this outfit. I found this gorgeous Iris skirt at Leverocci and was looking for a good top to wear with it. I had tried on top in my White Tops folder and settled on a nice tank and a jacket which made a nice classic look, but was not what I had envisioned. Suddenly someone posts a vendor pic of Betty Doyle’s new top for Ingenue and had exactly the sort of modern lines I had been hoping for.
This fabulous jacket from Hucci has the classic, eternal chic of a Chanel jacket and the tank from MichaMi can dress up or dress down. I shot this at Digital Dragon – a great sim with a predominantly black and white design. This and the other Digital Dragon pics used Di’s Opera poses.
I had an inadvertent party yesterday. It started out with me wandering around and telling my friend Codie “I’m SL Food shopping….somebody stop me.” She LOLed because she know’s I’m a dork of the highest order but really, if I’m SL food shopping it can only mean one thing -a party is brewing. The worst thing about events is that they close and I always feel that I have not seen enough, highlighted enough or done enough to share the great variety of creations at the event. That’s certainly true of Chic2 which closes today and of SL9B. The entertainment ends today but the exhibits will remain until the 27th. You should definitely go exploring and if you’re a freebie hunter, this is prime territory for freebies. Today I am wearing Tare, a new dress released by MiaMai with a summery pop art print in several colors. I chose orange because I picked up some orange shoes at Collabor88 that I wanted to wear.
But first take a look at this gorgeous tree from New Trails. It’s only 100 lindens at the moment – part of the Spruce Up Your Space event. It’s at New Trail right by the landing point. And then there are those logs on the floor with the moss and bracken. They also come with big mushrooms, but I edited them out since they were more fantasy than I wanted for this. It’s from Gallimaufry and free at their SL9B just two parcels down from the Blogger Carnival. There are six poses in the log, but they were laying down and sitting poses that didn’t work with this skirt and the handbag.
I was playing with the online editors in Cajsa’s piece about photoshop alternatives, but ended up over at bighugelabs.com messing around and creating my own fun whether you like it or not. Continue reading
Here I am standing right in front of a striking kinetic sculpture of light and magic just down the street from our Blogger Carnival. I spent a few hours wandering around a few of the sims last night, barely scratching the surface, but there was so much to see. I dressed for exploring in this loose, casual top from Tea Time with leggings from Maitreya.

Rather than being responsible and working on my stuff for SL9B last night, I popped over to the Velvet to dance while Cajsa DJd. After about the third awesome and kind of random tune, I asked her what the theme was – joking “Just stuff I like?”
She said “yes that’s the theme, I couldn’t come up with one and as I flailed I decided to just make it stuff I like.” Continue reading
