I Am Slightly More Dressed This Morning – I Put On Earrings

This morning I am excited to tell you that in addition to all the other good things launching today, the Lo Lo Cafe Coffee Break starts today! YAAAAY!
Caroline’s Jewelry will be featuring her beautiful Cabochon Chandelier earrings!
A girl with a graceful neck can never have too many chandelier earrings.
I have a pet peeve in RL – Earrings should never be so heavy that they DRAG down your ear lobes. I don’t know why, it just looks gross and tacky to me. Continue reading

It Was a Dark and Stormy Night

mar22_002

It was a dark and stormy night in Borobodur. I had come unprepared for the wind and the rain and desperately wished I had brought an umbrella and was not wearing open-toed sandals. My feet were wet and my shoes slipped on the rough stone stairs. I shivered as sheets of rain poured down soaking through my clothing.

Then I changed my windlight settings. The outfit I wore to Borobodur was a cotton candy confection of pastels and springtime inspirations. It all began with the delicate floral Spring Forward tank from Ingenue. It’s beautifully made with excellent attention to details that we have come to expect from Ingenue. The minty color make me think of these leggings from Bubble that had sat in my closet waiting for their moment. I added the sweater from Tuli because springtime weather can be unpredictable. I was prepared for breezes, but not for downpours.

Valentine Ice

I knew I owned enough of the amazing creations from Ingenue to find something appropriate for the themed Valentine Ball that Shopping Cart Disco held Monday Night. The only question was WHAT to wear once I was IN my Ingenue Closet?
That was when I decided, I didn’t need Valentine pink or red, icy blue might be a lovely change up. Continue reading

Gidge's Love List:The Good Blondes – Part 3

Oh you didn’t think I was DONE did you? No I just had a case of the RL. I think I’m cured of it now though.

I thought I’d start right back in loving on the creators of my favorite blondes and I’ll do it the alphabet way today – starting with Amacci. Amacci (above) makes skin, eyes, tattoo makeups now (sweet) and hair and probably other stuff that I’ve forgotten. I love the tones they use on their blonde textures because from the dirty blondes, strawberry blondes all the way to the pearl whites, they all have a creamy look that’s even and smooth.

They are in my top three long hair makers too. Long hair gets stuck in my boobs so I don’t shoot it that much, but I love to wear it. Continue reading

Gidge's Love List: The Good Blondes – PART TWO

It’s time for more of my FAVORITEST blondes on the grid.
I think you guys were afraid that I wasn’t going to include the rest of the BIG BALLERS when I lead off with Truth and Exile. FAR BE IT from the truth, I just thought I’d space stuff around a bit and not just do all the big guns at once.
I’m starting off with LAQ today and I have to totally admit that this is my original long hair love.
And Mallory Cowan gave me my first ever hair and skin review copies when I was a new blogger.
The JUNE hair pictured in the big photo, and the Top Picture – which is Love Affair, are two great examples of gorgeous long hair from LAQ and were my first review hairs.

I’m also wearing JENNIE by LAQ bcse I was in an LAQ kinda mood! Continue reading

Visions of Sugar Plums

Plum was a fun color of the 52 week challenge for me. I coulda just thrown on something plum colored but I decided to hunt about both my inventory and the grid for just the look I was looking for to go with this hair from Exile.
It’s called Violet. Which is CLOSE to plum. But, I’m not wearing that color in the hair, cuz that’s how I roll. Continue reading

Yummy Plum!

Every week, when we hear what the new color will be for the 52 Weeks of Color bloggers challenge, I scour my favorite designers shops for something that I think is the perfect hue for that week.  When I saw this dress at Ingenue it jumped out at me screaming… I’m PLUM!  And it doesn’t hurt that it fits nicely into my “look” of late – that 40’s pinup girl style.

From the sexy sweetheart cut-out neckline ~ down to the flouncy bottom of the waist defining corset ~ and the sexy hip hugging pencil skirt this dress screams sex siren.  And plum just goes fantastically with my red hot hair.

Color Me Coddly, Color Me Happy

nov11_033

I had planned to blog this before I went into the hospital for surgery, but ran out of “oomph” and didn’t get it up. I shot this for Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge because I love this gown from Paper Couture and it’s blue, blue, blue!!!!

nov11_030

The gown may be blue and the lovely Endless sim may be blue, but I a not feeling blue at all. I am a happy woman. When my best friend came to visit me after surgery she said, “before we chat, go look at your blog.” I cried, of course, touched not only be the treasure trove that is Gidge’s boundless heart, but also by the outpouring of good wishes, hopes and prayers from friends, acquaintances and readers here on the blog, in SL and in plurk. There was a whirlwind of love and kindness that circled the globe, gathering up hope an dropping it gently into that operating theater here at OHSU. And it worked. My surgery was complete within the minimum estimated time and there were no complications at all. Despite a rough day of illness and drama yesterday, I woke up this morning full of energy and optimism. Thank you each and every one for adding your voice to that whirlwind of hope that lifted me up through a very rough few days.
