So now that my computer has been repaired I was able to hop over to Collabor88, The Arcade and faMESHed without getting a black screen kernel panic meltdown. Things are still not quite right and I think I will have to upgrade my operating system to Lion to get shadows again, but now I can go where there are people.
My dress is from Ingenue for the Collabor88 event and comes in many colors. It’s a perfect foundation dress to wear with scarfs, jackets or to show off fun jewelry. Its simply lines make it a wonderful frame for fun accessories. Speaking of fun accessories, here’s another of the pesca scarves from The Arcade Gacha. I plurked about my desperate desire for one of these stoles when Arcade opened while my computer was still in bad shape and was lucky to receive several different ones from friends. This pink plaid seems made for the Ingenue dress.
You can get some fabulous wardrobe basics for just 10 L at DCNY for the With Love Hunt. This ruffled top is packaged with four colors – black, grey, taupe and tan – and comes with ruffled cap sleeves that I removed to wear with the jacket from Hucci. The jacket has classic styling and was offered at Collabor88 earlier this year. The skirt is out now at faMESHEd and is from NYU. It comes in several bold colors.
I love coffee and I especially love a super-strong espresso latte. I used to live right across from Grand Central Bakery where they made amazing pastries and fabulous lattes. However, their latte expertise was highly developed for me. Whenever I ordered a latte, their barista would ask, “Dry or wet?” and I would stand there confused by my banal assumption that a latte would by definition be wet. It turns out that there is a difference. A wet latte has more steamed milk than foam while a dry latter has more foam than steamed milk. Funny thing, though, I cannot really taste the difference.
Yves Saint-Laurent once said, “Fashions fade, style is eternal.” The Ingenue pencil skirt I am wearing is a testament to that truth. Introduced by Christian Dior in the 1940s, the pencil skirt is over seventy years old. The details, though, are what make this pencil skirt serve both fashion and style. The row of small round buttons up the banded high waist are the kind of details you look for when you want something fashionable and eternal.
Speaking of details, the top I am wearing comes from a dress released by Les Petits Details for the With Love Hunt that opens tomorrow. The French Dress from LPD has a short mini-skirt and a fabric bow, but I was in the mood for something longer and sleeker.
It’s typical, that life hands me something awesome and then gives me not awesome along side it. I’m not sure if that’s karma I’m burning off of simply the run of things but just as soon as I’m ecstatic about a temp spot to live and shoot pics, all my pics today show up with more grid lines than ever in them.

It’s 11:00 and what are you doing? Well, if you go to the FAIR event, you are drinking tea in this rich brocade tea dress from 22769. The dress is a rich scarlet with a chic, modern folded bodice of silk moire. Its modern styling and traditional fabrics make a great mix of old and new.
It’s so funny that Acha, Gidge and I all independently decided to blog these gorgeous shorts from Ingenue today. I feel like I need to pull out a timestamp and say, b-b-b-but I shot them yesterday. But you know what? It doesn’t matter that we all wore the same shorts, if you look at these three posts they are all so very different. From Acha’s high camp to Gidge’s casual chic to my classic style, we all took a different approach to the same shorts and came up with very different looks. My pixel self is fairly tranquil. She lives a solitary, calm and quiet life that is the opposite of my RL and I like her that way. I started off her Saturday night with a jaunt to the market to pick up something for some dinner for one. Continue reading
The Mesh Button Vest from Shine is all kinds of wonderful. I love its glittery goodness in every color. I had the hardest time choosing which to wear especially since the Seberg Pants from Ingenue seemed made for them and came in a rainbow of colors that could coordinate with any of the vests. Such a quandary, but I ended up choosing the Teal because who doesn’t love teal?
