Expectations 3 – High Expectations

This third look at how Sn@tch clothing passes beyond the Alternative label explores a fun mash-up that very editorial and high fashion. The basis is the Swirl & Swing outfit – a top and skirt outfit. I used just the skirt, though, opting to finally try out that Boudoir Black Lace Bodysuit that has been tempting me for the past month.

You could search the grid for a year and not find a better complement to the Boudoir bodysuit than Sn@tch’s fabulous Swirl and Swing skirt in black. The soft voile and lace over the opaque sculpty skirt has the perfect contrast to the lace so that it does not get lost – but also does not overwhelm. Sure a plain black skirt could work, but this is more interesting and more exciting. I love the William Morris-inspired print contrasting with the more baroque lace.

Beautiful Babydoll

I have mentioned more than once that I am not very fond of babydoll dresses, so imagine my surprise when I fell for this gorgeous babydoll at Mika. There was an element of surprise in that Mika is known for dancer/showgirl wear. It’s where we got our fan dancer outfits. But the big surprise was how attractive and elegant this babydoll dress looked. Elegant is not the word I associate with babydolls, but that is the word for this one. It is the gorgeous draping in the bodice and the lovely fabric that make this so elegant. However, to really appreciate how truly excellent it is, you have to see those prims in motion – it’s an amazing piece of work. The attention to detail that creates elegance even extends to the ribbon edged hem. Truly a great example of how what seems quite simple on the surface becomes, through careful detailing and devotion to excellence, a work of art.

Get Your Motor Running

Get your motor runnin’
Head out on the highway
Lookin’ for adventure
And whatever comes our way

Okay, so the lyrics of Born to Be Wild should not be what I think of when wearing a vintage pencil skirt, sweater or a houndtooth trench coat, but guess what – they are.

But seriously, this clothing only sounds staid and sober. It looks hot and it is born to be wild.

The Stars Are Out

I am being a terrible blogger today and blogging a dress that I have no idea whatsoever about where/how I got it. If I were diligent, I would contact the creator and ask, but I know it’s a freebie because the box said Musashi-Do Freebie for Ladies 4.0. And so it’s from Musashi-Do where there’s been a lot of new releases happening lately.  I look a bit different because I am wearing my newest shape, Linna, that I made for the Skin/Shape Expo. I have a booth there with all my shapes – and 50% of all purchases of any of my shapes there will be donated to Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Am I Blue?

This lovely dress from Lelutka is called Cai and it’s an extraordinary mix  of dead sexy revelation with high fashion elegance.  The sheer fabric on the torso is one we see too frequently used to create rather vulgar and pedestrian outfits that litter the grid. Here, though, it’s clear the designer knows that less is more when it comes to exposure. So you have this lovely revelation of the torso that does not stray too low or too high. The erotic is in the mind and involves anticipation and imagination – and so when clothing hints but does not show too much, it’s dead sexy.

Where did summer go?

The summer has raced past so fast that here it is Labor Day – the psychological end of summer – and I am only now getting around to blogging this gorgeous dress from Armidi calle Midsummer Nights. How’s that for the days racing by. And sure enough – the rains have come. It rained yesterday and last night and so I guess this is more than the psychological end of summer.
