Tres Fun at The Arcade
I’m wrecked and full of joy over all the gorgeous things at the ARCADE this round. So much girly goodness swirling around I don’t know which thing to gush over first. I might start with Tres Blah, which are the pajamas I’m wearing, but omg these KITTIES from Half Deer and absolutely killing me.
They make me feel a BIT giddy, I do confess. Continue reading
The Curtain Closes on the Arcade Soon…but there is STILL TIME
More DIRE than the last call for alcohol is the last few hours of THE ARCADE. What didn’t you get yet? If you’re a blogger and you didn’t pull for these adorable decor items from Le Primtif you’re missing out. They are the perfect accoutrements to your studio – they all fell into my MUST HAVE list for sure. I’m also besieged by cats this morning from MUTRESSE – also still available at the ARCADE. My little corgi from Jian has become a staple at my house, you still have a few hours to grab yours as well. Continue reading
A Blogger’s Work is Never Done
The Arcade ends tomorrow and if you’re a blogger, you really should drop by Le Primitif’s machine and give it a few pulls because it is a gift to bloggers. There’s a desk, a PC, a phone, a cup of coffee, shelving, boxes of unopened stuff to blog and even a clothing rack full of clothes to blog. The PC that you get shows the time, but I changed the desktop picture to match my own desktop. Here’s a link if you want the picture for your own desktop.
Things That Go TOK In the Night
I was so wound up from my exciting and happy Friday that I just couldn’t sleep properly. I decided to read for a while to see if that calmed me down but you know then my mind got going with all the beautiful things I was seeing and I was even MORE awake. Continue reading
Gemütlichkeit: A Feeling of Comfort & Coziness
Gemütlichkeit is a world I picked up from this wonderful web site I found the other day. Even it it means you wander away for hours, I want you to check you out. It’s a collection of untranslatable words. Words that convey concepts, that have no equivalent in our language, at least not in a single word. It is fun.
I am wearing the dress I wore in my last blog post, in a print this time. It comes in a solid or print version with six options in the texture huds. My last post was nothing but head shots, so I wanted to show you the back which is just so adorable. The house is the San Clemente from Barnesworth Anubis. It’s a great house and I will show you around inside, but the name makes me think of Richard Nixon, since that was where he was from.

Saturday Slackerday
It begins with the clanging of an emotionless metal heart. The banging and clanging wakes me from my otherwise peaceful slumber and reminds me, it’s Saturday. This is perfect because this means I don’t actually HAVE to do ANYTHING. Continue reading
Some Call It Work
I’m working this morning, formally working in the little studio I’ve set up behind my house. I used the skybox from Ariskea from the December round of the Arcade, at only 3o something prims it was perfect. I just want a place to work, where the cats aren’t chasing me about. Continue reading
If Only In My Dreams
Christmas Eve’ll find me
Where the love light gleams
I’ll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams
Lelutka has released a new mesh head called Simone. It’s a special edition head with additional expressions including this mournful one that perfectly captures some of the emotional turmoil I am feeling this Christmas season. With the passing of my aunt this summer, everyone from my parents’ generation is now gone. My sister had a tough struggle with cancer last year and came though in the end, but now has a new cancer that has gone from Stage One to Stage Four in just one month. I will confess I cry a lot lately, but I am still hopeful she will beat the odds. She is the strongest woman I know. Homesickness has manifested itself in the kitchen with traditional Christmas baking like lefse and rosettes and cooking up Cherry Soup with Dumplings, the foods that make me think of home and family.
No one loved Christmas more than my mom. Each year, my dad and my uncle would scour the woods for the perfect black spruce or balsam fir. It has to be 17 feet with no bare spots, so when I put the angel on the top it stopped just shy of the ceiling. Dad made a tree stand with wheels so we could turn it to decorate it evenly. I did the top from my bedroom balcony while they did the middle and bottom before we oh-so-carefully wheeled it across the living room so it was framed in the center by all the windows that faced onto the lake. It was a huge undertaking that was never done in a day, particularly since many of the ornaments were generational hand-me-downs and hand-made memory-laden pieces that prompted stories and remembrances of the past. There were no themed trees or single-colored trees because that store of ornaments was much more precious – a store of memories. We Meet Again Sewing Machine…
Yesterday I played. I logged in and Sasy, Whimsy and Mavi were making the rounds of the big shopping events and so instead of settling in for some serious work I went FA LA LA LA LA shopping. I couldn’t help it. SHOPPING WITH THE GIRLS IS MORE FUN. After we had emptied all the events of all the items worth having (which was all of them from what I could tell) I had to run off and they went on to further adventures. Continue reading
